  • Publication number: 20230086883
Abstract: A method, system and product comprising: obtaining location-reporting signals of a vessel indicating that the vessel was located at a first geographical position prior to a shutdown event and at a second geographical position after the shutdown event; determining a distance between the first and second geographical positions; determining an estimated time to travel the distance based on the location-reporting signals; comparing the estimated time to the duration of the shutdown event, to determine whether the vessel had sufficient time to perform a dark activity that is associated with a maritime event; generating a potential travel path from the first geographical position to the second geographical position, wherein the potential travel path comprises the maritime event; obtaining images that correspond to the duration of the shutdown event and to the potential travel path; and verifying that the maritime event occurred based on an analysis of the images.

  • Patent number: 10922981
Abstract: An apparatus, method and computer readable medium, the method comprising: obtaining raw maritime data from a plurality of sources, the raw maritime data indicative of a geolocation of vessels at different times and comprises duplicative data obtained from separate sources; analyzing the raw maritime data to produce for each vessel a vessel story comprising a set of activities and corresponding timestamps, wherein the set of activities associated with each vessel is smaller by at least one order of magnitude than the raw maritime data associated with the each vessel; identifying a pattern in the vessel story associated with a vessel, wherein the pattern conforms with a risk event; and validating the risk event using the raw maritime data or vessel stories, whereby identifying the risk event using reduced resources than required to identify the risk event in the raw maritime data, and without increasing false positive metrics.

  • Publication number: 20200184828
Abstract: Method, system and product for risk event identification in maritime data and usage thereof. Ram maritime data is analyzed to produce for each vessel a vessel story. The vessel story comprises a set of activities and corresponding timestamps, that are deduced from the raw maritime data. A pattern, that conforms with a risk event, in the vessel story associated with a vessel. The risk event is validated using the raw maritime data or using one or more vessel stories. So, the risk event is identified using reduced resources in comparison with resources required to identify the risk event in the raw maritime data, and without increasing false positive metrics. Additionally, or alternatively, a pattern, that conforms with a risk event, in the vessel story associated with a first vessel is identified. The risk event is validated using the vessel story associated with a second vessel.

  • Patent number: 10036686
Abstract: A method and a system for ultimately fast frequency-scanning Brillouin optical time domain analysis are provided herein. The method may include: simultaneously launching two pairs each having a pulsed pump wave and a counter-propagating constant wave (CW) probe wave, into an optical fiber, wherein the pulsed pumps have orthogonal States of Polarization (SOPs), and wherein the two CW probe waves have a same SOP; scanning common pump-probe frequency difference, over a frequency range that encompasses a respective Brillouin Gain Spectrum (BGS) and current and expected spectral shifts of the BGS along the optical fiber; deriving, a local Brillouin Frequency Shift (BFS), in a distributed manner along the optical fiber, which is defined as the pump-probe frequency difference which maximizes the Brillouin gain on the BGS; and determining strain and/or temperature in a distributed manner along the optical fiber, based on the respective local BFS.

  • Publication number: 20130306138
Abstract: A window is provided comprising a front pane and one or more prism units each comprising: a primary prism disposed adjacent the front pane and having a primary entrance face and a primary exit face. The primary entrance face is configured to receive a first and a second portion of light that passes through the front pane. The window further comprises a secondary prism disposed adjacent the primary prism and having a secondary entrance face and a secondary exit face. The secondary entrance face is configured to receive from the primary exit face at least the second portion of light. At least one of the entrance and exit faces comprises a light diverging surface which causes divergence of light passing therethrough, and at least one of the entrance and exit faces different from the light diverging face, comprises a light converging surface configured to reduce the divergence.
