  • Publication number: 20210362541
Abstract: A wheel lug nut locking attachment, lug nut position locator device, or lug nut locking device is provided, wherein the attachment or devices include a thermochromic material which provides an indication of excess heat generation in the wheel assembly of a tractor trailer. A warning system to alert an operator of the present of excess heat in the wheel assembly is provided. In a preferred embodiment, the device also acts to lock a wheel lug nut to an adjacent wheel lug nut, so as to prevent or reduce rotation of the wheel lug nut. A plurality of thermochromic lug nut locking devices can be fitted to a single wheel so that all of the lug nuts are operatively locked to an adjacent lug nut. The resulting locking system can be rapidly installed on each lug nut on all wheels, so as to provide improved vehicle safety aspects.

  • Publication number: 20210010205
Abstract: A rail bolt nut locking device comprising a member having a first planar section at one end of the member, and a second planar section at an opposite end of the member, a central, curved intermediate section located between the planar sections. The first and second planar sections are substantially flat but include openings which are adapted to be friction fitted around the nuts of rail bolts which have been used to hold a frog or rail joint bar in place on a railway rail. The intermediate section is preferably made of a resilient plastic, to allow relative movement of the first and second planar sections. The planar sections, when fitted to the rail bolts, prevents loosening of the rail bolt nuts, and the curved intermediate section can act to prevent the rail bolts from backing out of the openings provided for the rail bolts. A device and method to lock the rail bolts in place is provided.

  • Patent number: 8708627
Abstract: A wheel lug nut locking device having first and second planar sections, each with an opening adapted to be fitted around a wheel lug nut. The planar sections are connected by a flexible section that allows the planar sections to be moved relative to one another. In a preferred embodiment, the flexible section has a concertina-like structure. In use, the locking device is used to lock a wheel lug nut to an adjacent wheel lug nut, so as to prevent or reduce rotation of the wheel lug nut. A plurality of locking devices can be fitted to a single wheel so that all of the lug nuts are operatively locked to an adjacent lug nut. The resulting locking system can be rapidly installed on each lug nut on all wheels, so as to provide improved safety aspects.

  • Publication number: 20090206021
Abstract: A magnetic filter adapter is provided and which is adapted for use with a fluid filter having a cylindrical housing which filter includes a closed end, a semi-open end for communicating with a fluid system, and cylindrical filter side walls. The filter adapter has a non-magnetic semi-rigid hollow adaptive housing, including a truncated conical side wall between a housing open end and a housing closed end, having an interior diameter at its closed end which is at least equal to the diameter of the filter closed end diameter, and a gradually increasing interior diameter, and an overall axial height sufficient for extending from the filter closed end towards the filter semi-open end, and spaced away from the side wall surface of the filter, a grasping ring located around the perimeter of the housing open end; a magnet holder located at the housing closed end-field for holding a magnet; and a magnet, held within the adapter by the magnet holder.
