  • Patent number: 4070561
Abstract: An automatic inspection device is installed in a field of alignment holes, and the location of the device is shifted, by making use of the holes, by means of a control system in which addresses are assigned to the respective alignment holes, the location of the device is indicated on an objective counter in terms of the address, and a preset counter indicates the shifting direction of the device in terms of the address. In the method, instructions are given to the preset counter and they are compared with the contents of the objective counter, whereupon the device is shifted in the direction of reducing a difference resultant from the comparison. The device is provided with a detector for detection of an obstacle so as to shift the device while avoiding the obstacle.

  • Patent number: 4036373
Abstract: An automatic inspection apparatus including a carrier body on the (Y, -) side which is slidably supported by X-direction guide rods, and a carrier body on the (Y, +) side slidably supported by both X- and Y-direction guide rods, each carrier body accommodating a plurality of tap shafts vertically movable therethrough, so that the tap shafts are raised and lowered as desired for the inspection of the object. Each carrier body houses a drive shaft operatively coupled to a prime mover for rotation. A plurality of screw gears, each of which is spring-biased in one way, are fitted on the drive shaft axially slidably thereon. These screw gears and tap shafts are operatively interconnected through gearings to raise and lower the tap shafts. In case of overloading on the load side, the screw gears are tripped against the spring forces so that the displacements of the screw gears can be detected.

  • Patent number: 3984008
Abstract: An apparatus for automatizing flaw detection comprising carrier bodies arranged in parallel, on sides (Y-) and (Y,+), taps capable of supporting the both bodies and extensible from and retractable into the bodies, clamp shafts having downwardly tapered heads and vertically movably inserted in hollow shafts of the taps, and collet claws disposed around the portions of the clamp shafts near their heads, with expansion bands fitted around the claws for centripetally fastening them together, the carrier body on the (Y-) side being slidably supported by X-direction guide rods and the carrier body on the (Y,+) side by the X-direction guide rods and Y-direction guide rods.
