  • Patent number: 7841779
Abstract: A fiber optic connector release mechanism that is used to release a transceiver module from a cage assembly includes a pivoting bail that operates a slide plate on the transceiver module. The locking mechanism comprises a locking projection on an underside of the module housing which mates with an aperture in a flexible locking tab on an underside of the cage. When the release mechanism is actuated, a flexible lifting tab on the slide plate is urged upward by a trailing edge of the locking projection on an underside of the module housing, which in turn moves the locking tab on the cage upward, thereby disengaging the locking tab from the locking projection.

  • Patent number: 7708287
Abstract: A collet assembly that holds two disks to be processed simultaneously uses alternating pressure zones to press against the inner diameter of the disks to hold them in place in a processing machine. While the disks to be processed are typically media disks, any type of disk processing can make use of the collet assembly of the present invention. Each pressure zone includes a contact surface on a chuck blade. When a travel stroke is initiated by an actuating device (typically an air cylinder), the drawbar pulls an angled expander rearward. The expander urges the chuck blades outward. Half of the pressure zones apply pressure (via the contact surfaces on the chuck blades) to the first disk, while the other half of the contact surfaces press against the second disk, so that both disks are held securely in position.

  • Patent number: 7026616
Abstract: A device for performing thermoluminescent dosimetry and a method for making the same is disclosed. A thermoluminescent dosimetry device in accordance with the invention comprises a chip holder for holding thermoluminescent chips in free-space, such that the thermoluminescent chips are capable of being directly addressed after exposure to radiation. The chips are preferably suspended in free-space through support structures which minimize the contact with the thermoluminescent chips. A radiation detection device is preferably fabricated by placing the chip holder and a filter in a cup and thermally scaling a lid to edges of the cup.
