  • Patent number: 5411318
Abstract: An extended ventilated seat covering assembly includes a backing sheet, and protrusions, studs or spacing members extending outward from the backing sheet to support the user, with the sides of the assembly extending laterally beyond the normal seating area of the user, and being entirely open at the outer edges to permit the free circulation of cooling air. When employed with bucket seats, the assembly may include a basic central area, additional side areas angled forward or upward where the bucket seat sides are angled inward, and finally additional outwardly directed "wings" to assure free inward flow of cooling and ventilating air.

  • Patent number: 5204991
Abstract: An on/off circuit is provided to automatically turn "on" or "off" electrical power to electrical outlets depending upon whether an automobile engine is "on" or "off". The circuit is powered by the automobile battery via a plug inserted into an automobile cigarette lighter socket. The circuit includes a mechanical vibration sensor, namely a piezoelectrical transducer, that monitors engine vibrations. Upon detection of vibrations, the sensor outputs a signal that is amplified by an operational amplifier before being rectified and filtered into a signal that triggers a transistor to switch a power supply circuit "on". Energization of the power supply circuit provides power to one or more electrical sockets. The power supply circuit includes a current limiting circuit (featuring a Darlington transistor) to protect against high current damage. When the sensor notes an absence of vibrations, the on/off circuit shuts off the power supply circuit.

  • Patent number: 4981324
Abstract: A ventilated back support pad configured to rest atop an automobile seat is provided with a plurality of apertures on one or more of its faces. Forced air is channeled from a selected automotive air vent through the apertures via a flexible hose having one end connected with air passageways within the support pad. The opposite end of the flexible hose includes a funnel shaped attachment head adapted for releasibly engaging the selected air vent. This attachment head includes two locking pins which can be manually secured to a louver of the vent. In other preferred embodiments of the invention, the back support pad can be provided with a ventilated seat support rest integrally formed therewith and/or internally mounted electric fan. Further, as an alternative to the use of many apertures, a single enlarged aperture covered by a screen, or the like, can be utilized to allow forced air to escape from the support pad.
