  • Patent number: 11703281
Abstract: A method for forming large titanium parts includes forming bends into a titanium plate for form a bent part. The bent part is then roll-formed to form contours into the bent part. The surfaces of the contoured part are rough-machined, and the part is then secured to a bladed form fixture. The bladed form fixture comprises a plurality of header boards that secure the part to the fixture. The fixture part is placed in a thermal vacuum furnace and a stress-relieving operation is performed. The part is removed from the fixture and final machining takes place.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 13, 2022
Date of Patent: July 18, 2023
    Assignee: DUCOMMUN AEROSTRUCTURES, INC.
    Inventors: Andrew Pirie, Ignacio Hernandez

  • Patent number: 9837794
Abstract: An optoelectronic signal translating device having a region containing rare earth or transition metal ions for generation of radiation of a predetermined wavelength. Said region includes an organic complex comprising a ligand adapted to enhance the emission of radiation and a chromophore separately co-operable with a radiation source of wavelength not greater than that of said predetermined desired radiation. Said chromophore can be excited to cross-couple with the upper permitted energy state of said rare earth or transition metal ions, thereby generating said predetermined desired radiation by subsequent decay of said ions to the permitted lower energy state.

  • Patent number: 4628580
Abstract: A method for using a carousel system is disclosed. The carousel bins are filled with selected parts in a stockroom, the carousels are stacked together such that each carousel closes the open top bins of the carousel therebelow, storing the group of carousels as work-in-process, moving the carousel system to an assembly station, separating the carousels at the assembly station to expose the parts in the bins, successively removing parts from the bins to produce assemblies; on completion of assemblies, to restack the carousels and return the carousel system to the stockroom for refilling. The carousel system is a plurality of carousels each having parts bins therein.
