  • Publication number: 20230258164
Abstract: A microfluidic valve, includes arranging a substrate of a mechanically inert material to one or more physicochemical properties over time, configuring a structural portion of the valve; additive layer manufacturing to print, a succession of one or more filaments of a material with mechanical response to one or more of said physicochemical properties over time, preferably LCP, configuring a functional portion of the valve; and arranging the succession of filaments on the substrate, configuring a fluid flow rate through the valve using the application of an anti-adhesion treatment on one or more interfaces of said filaments and the substrate.

  • Patent number: 11142734
Abstract: The present invention relates to a novel microfluidic device and a microfluidic system for culturing cell samples based on: one or more culture wells (2) forming cell housing volumes for three-dimensional cell culture; one or more capillary channels (1) for circulating cells and/or fluid media, said channels (1) being connected to the wells (2) as well perfusion means; and an inlet port (3) and an outlet port (3?) for seeding cells and/or for circulating fluid in said channel (1), said ports (3, 3?) being connected to the ends of each capillary channel (1). The novel configuration of the ports (3, 3?) and their corresponding channels (1) allows known microfluidic perfusion media to be improved, dispensing with the use of complex elements for injecting the fluid media, such as syringe pumps, for example. The invention also allows two-dimensional and three-dimensional culture studies to be performed simultaneously.

  • Publication number: 20210190564
Abstract: The invention relates to a channel comprising device (1) comprising a channel (10) with a channel wall (15), a channel inlet (11) and a channel outlet (12), wherein the channel wall comprises a polymer (150),wherein the polymer (150) comprises an epoxy-based polymer. The invention further relates to a system (1000) comprising a Coriolis-type flow measuring device(50) comprising the channel comprising device (1) according to the invention and an actuation system (450) configured to let at least part of the channel (10) vibrate thereby causing temporary displacements. The invention, further relates a method for measuring a property of a fluid, wherein the property of the fluid is a property selected form the group consisting of a mass flow rate of the fluid and a density of the fluid.

  • Publication number: 20180333721
Abstract: The present invention relates to a chip equipped with a plurality of compact microfluidic valves with multiple inlets and outlets, actuated by means of a flexible membrane system. The chip preferably comprises a deformable sealing layer made of at least one flexible, elastic, and insulating material; a structure formed by a succession of one or several microstructured layers, wherein said structure comprises one or several micro-chambers, one or several microfluidic channels, and one or several fluidic inlets and outlets; and wherein said structure is installed on a base substrate. The invention likewise relates to a microfluidic device that comprises the aforementioned chip, to a method for the fabrication of the chip, and to the uses associated with the chip and the microfluidic device.
