  • Patent number: 9440725
Abstract: The present invention relates to a stringer, particularly to a stiffening and structural longitudinal element for skin of aircraft airfoil surfaces, characterized in that it incorporates two separate and independent reinforcement areas, one in the foot and the other at the end of the web (head) of the stringer, where the reinforcement areas are obtained by a widening of the section of the stringer, the widening being formed by a localized stack of reinforcing plies of composite material which are embedded within the stringer. The invention also relates to the method of manufacture and is particularly applicable to stringers having an L-shaped or T-shaped section.
    Type: Grant

  • Publication number: 20120132754
Abstract: Interface arrangement between a first component (11) and a second component (21) of an aircraft structure having an aerodynamic contour, such as a wing skin and a wing leading edge panel, the first component (11) having a joggle so that it includes a first area (13) which surface (15) belongs to the aircraft aerodynamic contour and a second area (17) where the joint with the second component (21) takes place, the second component (21) having a surface (23) belonging to the aircraft aerodynamic contour, in which the second component (21) includes a chamfer-shaped ending (29) that extends beyond the overlapping area (27) where the joint with the first component (11) takes place so that the gaps (26, 28) between the first component (11) and the second component (21) are minimized.

  • Publication number: 20120132743
Abstract: A mult-rib box-shaped aeronautical structure comprising upper and lower skins (19, 21) stiffened by span wise stringers (25, 25?, 25?), span wise front and rear spars (11, 13) and chord wise ribs (27, 27?, 27?), where at least one panel (31, 33) of any of said skins (19, 21) is non delimited by said ribs (27, 27?, 27?) and said stringers (25, 25?, 25?) and comprise an stiffening element (41, 43) arranged as a panel breaker to avoiding the need of increasing the panel thickness to withstand buckling loads.
