That first axle is held on a carrier which, in turn, can be rotated about a second axle. The folding blade can extend out of the folding blade cylinder during the course of rotation of the folding blade cylinder. The carrier and the folding blade cylinder can be phase-displaced in relation to each other.

    Abstract: A folding gear is comprised of a cylinder that is mounted to a frame for rotation. At least one clamp is arranged on the outer surface of the cylinder. The at least one clamp can be positioned by an actuator which includes a flexible toothed shell that is shaped by a non-circular section of a shaft. A hollow gear engages this flexible shell and cooperates with it to form a harmonic drive gear.
