  • Patent number: 10773466
Abstract: A computer-implemented method and system create a three-dimensional (3D) model of a personalized object that represents of a real-world physical product. The 3D model contains one or more symbol parts, where each of the symbol parts is a computer representation of a symbol and a 3D font determines the shape of each of the symbol parts. A user interface is provided to enable a user to specify the symbol parts to personalize the real-world physical product. A transformation operation is performed, which transforms the 3D model in any one of the six degrees of freedom and enables a user to visualize in three dimensions on a computer screen a representation of the physical product prior to purchase.

  • Patent number: 10650426
Abstract: In current systems, only one consumer can personalize a product using a single session or at a single device (e.g., a computer, mobile device). In an embodiment, a method includes providing, at a user device via a network, a user interface displaying a three-dimensional (3D) model of a consumer product selected by a user. The method further includes customizing the 3D model of the consumer product based on selections and manipulations of the consumer product received at the provided user interface from at least two users. The method further includes, responsive to finalization of the customized 3D model by one of the users, submitting the customized 3D model for 3D printing. In this manner, multiple people can collaborate to create a single 3D printed product.

  • Patent number: 9454623
Abstract: In one embodiment of the present disclosure, the capabilities of a social collaboration application are leveraged to permit synchronized viewing of computer aided design (CAD) models and exchange of annotations (e.g., redlines) related thereto, in a social review session involving differing applications executing on different computers. By utilizing the capabilities of the social collaboration application as a transport mechanism, users operating differing applications on different computers may participate in the social review session for the CAD model, thereby allowing users who do not, for example, have access to the application in which the CAD model was developed to be part of the review process.

  • Patent number: 7117142
Abstract: A symbolic design model development environment includes an information-linking program, an object store, a symbolic modeling program, and at least one input document. Each input document contains a constraint or parameter for the design of some device. The symbolic modeling program contains a symbolic modeling window for the graphical illustration of a plurality of symbolic modeling components such as constraints, parameters, notices and interrelationships. The symbolic modeling components are stored in an icon palette. The linking program provides a connection of the at least one input document to the symbolic modeling program through the object store. The user drags and drops various symbolic modeling components from the icon palette to the symbolic modeling window. The symbolic modeling components once they are entered into the symbolic modeling window place constraints on the design of a device.
