  • Publication number: 20080057798
Abstract: An electrical component includes a body made from a stack of ceramic layers. The body has a cavity that is accessible external to the body. The cavity is defined by a wall. A contact surface is on the wall. A contact device is electrically connected to the contact surface. At least part of the contact device is external to the body. The contact device includes a connection part and a spring. The spring is between the body and the connection part. The spring is for exerting a spring force on the contact surface.

  • Publication number: 20070278906
Abstract: A piezoelectric transformer with a base body containing a piezoelectric material is disclosed. The piezoelectric material is polarized in an input part of the base body along a first axis and in an output part of the base body along a second axis perpendicular to the first axis. In a transition region between the input part and the output part, the polarization of the piezoelectric material gradually changes its direction from a polarization along the first axis to a polarization along the second axis.

  • Publication number: 20070194667
Abstract: A piezoelectric transformer with a base body is specified that has an input part and an output part, wherein at least three groups of internal electrodes are contained in at least one of these parts. The internal electrodes of each group are interconnected in an electrically conductive way. In this way, the internal electrodes of one group are electrically isolated from the internal electrodes of the other groups.

  • Patent number: 6914392
Abstract: The following circuit is proposed for discharge lamps having a particularly high starting voltage. An a.c. voltage generator (1) provides a corresponding a.c. voltage. A starting voltage generating device, which comprises a piezo transformer (2), is connected to the a.c. voltage generator (1) and can be connected at its output to a discharge lamp (4), generates a starting voltage from the a.c. voltage. The starting voltage generating device in this case comprises at least one diode (3) which is connected in parallel with the output of the starting voltage generating device. A zero-order pump circuit is thus integrated in the starting circuit. Advantageous here is the use of higher-order pump circuits.

  • Patent number: 4453103
Abstract: The proposed motor comprises a stator and a rotor frictionally interacting with said stator, either said stator and rotor including at least one piezoelectric oscillator. Said oscillator includes a piezoelectric element and electrodes located on the opposite surfaces of the piezoelectric element and connected to a supply source for exciting in this oscillator a resonant mode of longitudinal acoustic vibrations. The motor further includes at least two pushers, each having one end secured on said oscillator and the other end urged against a surface of frictional interaction of the rotor and stator. The piezoelectirc element used in this motor is polarized in the direction perpendicular to the surfaces of the electrodes and is positioned so that the propagation direction of the resonant mode of the longitudinal vibrations is perpedicular to the surface of frictional interaction.

  • Patent number: 4400641
Abstract: A piezoelectric motor of the invention comprises a stator and a rotor one of which includes at least one first piezoelectric oscillator. The rotor consists of a first and a second parts one of which parts includes a second piezoelectric oscillator. Said parts of the rotor are mounted for relative rotation about the axis of rotation. The first part is in contact with the stator along the first surface of frictional interaction and with the second part along the second surface of frictional interaction. Each surface of frictional interaction is formed by rotation of at least one straight line length about the axis of rotation of the rotor.
