  • Publication number: 20090129885
Abstract: Methods relating to and apparatus such as floating nut plates may include complementary surfaces limiting movement of a retainer toward or away from side walls of a receiver, such as wherein a nut element is positioned between the retainer and the receiver. One of the complementary surfaces may be a groove formed in the retainer. In one configuration, the receiver and/or retainer are non-metal.

  • Publication number: 20090103997
Abstract: A nut plate assembly and a method for securing a nut plate assembly may include a support for a fastener element wherein the support has a base to be supported and/or fixed on a support surface and the base has another surface against which the fastener element bears. The base also supports a structure for supporting the fastener element where the structure is at least partly non-symmetrical about a plane other than a horizontal plane parallel to the base. One side of the base may be secured to the support surface and the other side of the base may have the fastener element bearing against it when a complementary fastener element is secured to the first fastener element.

  • Publication number: 20090028660
Abstract: Fasteners, fastener components and fastener receptacles, including quarter-turn fasteners may use a receptacle body having a non-metal material and one or more fastener engagement structures that together define a non-circular passage in the body. Underneath the fastener engagement structures, one or more support structures extend inwardly under the corresponding fastener engagement structures for supporting the underside of the fastener engagement structures. The support structures can have a concave configuration relative to an axis of the body. Additionally, a support structure can be co-extensive with the corresponding fastener engagement structure.

  • Publication number: 20090016843
Abstract: Light-weight fastener assemblies, spacers, standoff and other fastener components include one or more non-metal parts. A non-metal spacer can support a fastener element or fastener support so they fastener and a payload can be supported spaced apart from a surface such as an aircraft surface.

  • Publication number: 20080310931
Abstract: Fasteners such as clip nut fasteners can include a clip having a nut cage and a nut supported by the nut cage. The nut cage can have a wall supporting a portion of the nut wherein the wall can flex toward and away from the nut. The nut can have projections or other discontinuities for engaging bearing surfaces in the nut cage, for limiting rotation of the nut when under torque.

  • Publication number: 20080121764
Abstract: Line supports are described that can have more flexible applications or uses, or they can be used with a wider range of payload configurations. For example, line supports are described that can accommodate a larger number of payload sizes, or that can be reconfigured from one payload size combination to another payload size combination, for example without replacing the part. Methods are also described.

  • Patent number: 6105907
Abstract: Apparatus and methods are disclosed for holding or supporting a payload or other item. The apparatus may include a base having an upper surface for supporting a payload and a lower surface for being supported by an adjacent support surface. A mounting element extends from lower surface for mounting the base to an adjacent support surface. A payload holder or strap extends over a portion of a payload and includes first and second elements extending on each side of the base and below the base for holding the payload on the base.
