  • Patent number: 4889949
Abstract: The alkyl acrylates, e.g., methyl or ethyl acrylate, are improvedly dimerized, or codimerized with a conjugated diene, by contacting same with a catalytically effective amount of (a) at least one palladium source, (b) at least one organophosphorus(III) compound, and (c) at least one hydracid HY, the anion Y.sup.- of which does not coordinate with palladium ions.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 28, 1988
Date of Patent: December 26, 1989
    Assignee: Rhone-Poulenc Chimie

  • Patent number: 4749806
Abstract: The present invention relates to a process for the synthesis of isocyanates and of isocyanate derivatives. Isocyanates are obtained by reacting an organic halide with a metal cyanate in an organic medium in the presence of a catalyst consisting of a complex of nickel with at least one organic ligand, in which complex the nickel is in the zero oxidation state.A carbamate or a urea, respectively, are obtained by a subsequent reaction with a hydroxy compound or a primary or secondary amine.Isocyanates and their derivatives are used especially either as refined synthesis agents for the production of pesticides and medications, or as monomers or comonomers for the preparation of many macromolecular compounds.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: August 25, 1987
Date of Patent: June 7, 1988
Assignee: Societe Nationale des Poudres et Explosifs
Inventors: Igor Tkatchenko, Rabih Jaouhari, Michel Bonnet, Gordon Dawkins, Serge Lecolier

  • Patent number: 4207249
Abstract: Methane is manufactured by reacting hydrogen with carbon monoxide in an inert liquid medium comprising a catalyst obtained by reacting a nickel compound with a reducing aluminum compound.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: November 13, 1978
Date of Patent: June 10, 1980

Inventors: Yves Chauvin, Dominique Commereuc, Igor Tkatchenko
  • Patent number: 4027084
Abstract: Novel polymeric diphosphine coordinates are obtained by reacting a diphosphine alkali alcoholate with an halogenated polymer, and their metal derivatives are obtained by reacting the coordinate with salts or transition metal complexes. These metal polymers can be used as catalysts in catalysis reactions by means of coordination complexes.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 7, 1975
Date of Patent: May 31, 1977
Assignee: Societe Nationale des Petroles d'Aquitaine
    Inventor: Igor Tkatchenko
  • Patent number: 3954665
Abstract: The liquid phase dimerization of diolefins is effected by maintaining the diolefins in solution in an inert solvent in contact with a catalyst which is the reaction product of a transition metal carbonyl and a compound which is a transition metal halide or pseudo halide coordinated with groups capable of furnishing three electrons. The dimerization of butadiene to vinyl-4-cyclohexene and cyclooctadiene and the dimerization of C.sub.4 cracked fractions into vinyl-4-cyclohexene are preferred reactions.
    Type: Grant
