Abstract: There is provided a recording and/or reproducing apparatus which may include a cassette insertion slot formed at a front panel, an opening/closing lid for opening/closing the cassette insertion slot, a cassette compartment, and cassette double insertion blocking means. The cassette compartment may include a cassette loading holder for loading and unloading a cassette inserted through the cassette insertion slot while pushing the opening/closing lid open inward by moving between a cassette loading position and a cassette ejecting position along a substantially L-shaped path extending horizontally and vertically.
