  • Patent number: 6474094
Abstract: A refrigerator having a freezer compartment enabling a storage space of the freezer compartment to be efficiently utilized by improving the structure of an automatic ice-making system is disclosed. The freezer compartment is divided into a first section for an automatic ice-making system and a second section for storing foodstuffs. The ice-making system includes an automatic ice-maker set in the first section to form ice cubes, an ice cube container installed under the ice-maker to receive ice cubes from the automatic ice-maker and having a width larger than that of the ice-maker but smaller than that of the freezer compartment, and a hose for supplying water to the ice-maker. The hose penetrates the top wall of the freezer compartment to preferably reduce the height of the ice-maker. A length of the ice cube container is larger than its width.

  • Patent number: 5806333
Abstract: A shelf structure for use in a freezer compartment of a refrigerator includes a horizontal shelf and a base formed integrally of one piece with the shelf. The base extends downwardly from the shelf and includes upper and lower pairs of guide rails. A case is slidably supported on the upper guide rails and carries ice cube trays which are rotatable relative to the case for ejecting ice cubes. An ice cube storage bin is slidably mounted on the lower guide rails beneath the trays for receiving the ejected ice cubes.

  • Patent number: 5788094
Abstract: A shelf construction in a refrigerator includes a pair of guide rails provided on opposite side walls of a refrigerator compartment. A shelf slides forwardly and rearwardly along the guide rails. Two front stop beads are provided at respective front portions of the guide rails, and two rear stop beads are provided at respective rear portions of the guide rails. Stoppers project from the shelf in an area bordered by the front and rear stop beads. The stoppers come into contact with the front beads as the shelf slides forwardly, thereby limiting the forward movement of the shelf. The stoppers also come into contact with the rear beads as the shelf slides rearwardly, thereby limiting the rearward movement of the shelf.

  • Patent number: 5749241
Abstract: A shelf structure for a freezer compartment of a refrigerator includes a horizontal shelf and a base removably supported by an underside of the shelf. The shelf includes downward projections received in holes formed in a top wall of the base. Each projection incudes a narrow part and a wide part disposed at a lower end of the narrow part. The base rests upon the wide parts. Each hole includes an insert portion and a locking portion. The projections are passed vertically through the insert portion and are then moved horizontally into the locking portion. A portion of an edge of the hole is elastic to enable the narrow part to enter the locking portion and then to elastically retain the narrow part therein.

  • Patent number: 5727859
Abstract: A refrigerator forms a freezer compartment in which an evaporator is mounted. The evaporator includes a cover assembly composed of front and rear covers locked together by a projection/opening connection. The rear cover includes an elastic tongue in which the opening is formed. The from cover includes the projection, and the projection elastically deforms the tongue as it approaches the opening. Then the tongue rebounds elastically to insert the projection into the opening to lock the covers together. The tongue also carries another projection which elastically enters a channel formed in the refrigerator housing to lock the cover assembly to the housing.
