  • Patent number: 9445369
Abstract: A mobile phone includes: a microprocessor; a timer; and a memory storing computer-executable instructions for execution by the microprocessor, wherein the computer-executable instructions configure the microprocessor to: execute the non-telephone function; cause the timer to operate during execution of the non-telephone function, and automatically stop the execution of the non-telephone function when the timer indicates an elapse of a predetermined time period; and if the timer is being operated in response to the execution of the non-telephone function, to reset the timer to an initial state when an operation for ending a telephone call is received, wherein when the timer is reset to the initial state, the timer starts to measure the predetermined time period, and the microprocessor stops the execution of the non-telephone function at the elapse of the predetermined time period from when the operation for ending the telephone phone call is received.

  • Patent number: 8374655
Abstract: An openable/closable mobile phone has a function of locking external keys disposed on an external surface of a main body of the mobile phone, whereby the lock function can be temporarily cancelled without opening the main body. A user holds down a side key (203) provided on a main body lateral surface (202). When a judging unit (307) detects the hold-down, a temporary cancellation unit (308) instructs a lock unit (306) to temporarily cancel the external key operation disablement setting, and instructs a resumption unit (309) to initiate a timer. The resumption unit (309) initiates the timer, and reinitiates the timer when an external key operation signal is received from an operation unit (305). When a given time period elapses, the resumption unit (309) instructs the lock unit (306) to terminate the temporary cancellation. An opened/closed detection unit (310) detects an opened or closed state of a folding part (103), and notifies the detected state to the lock unit (306).

  • Patent number: 7966006
Abstract: The present invention is a mobile phone having a non-telephone function (e.g. a radio function) that is different from a telephone function, and comprising: a non-telephone function unit (a radio functioning unit) operable to execute the non-telephone function; an auto-power-off control unit operable to cause a timer to operate during execution of the non-telephone function, and automatically stop the execution of the non-telephone function when the timer indicates an elapse of a predetermined time period; a telephone function unit operable to execute the telephone function; and a reset unit operable to reset the timer to an initial state each time a predetermined operation relating to the telephone function is executed. The present invention successfully reduces occurrences of unwanted auto power off during the time when the non-telephone function is in execution—for example, the auto power off of the radio function during the time when the user is listening to the radio.
