    Abstract: A coaxial connector to be connected to a mating connector includes a fixed assembly body and a movable assembly body connected to the fixed assembly body along an axial direction. The fixed assembly body includes a fixed side inner conductive body; a holding member for holding the movable assembly body; a fixed side insulation member for insulating between the fixed side inner conductive body and the holding member; and a first urging member for using the movable assembly body. The movable assembly body includes a movable side inner conductive body; a movable side outer conductive body; and a movable side insulation member. The movable side inner conductive body includes a first relay terminal having a retaining portion, a second relay terminal having a contact portion retained in the retaining portion, and a second urging member for urging the second relay terminal toward the fixed side inner conductive body.

The plug-side and the base-side outer conductors (10) and (30) are in contact with each other and cover almost all the plug-side central conductor (12) and a portion of the base-side central conductor (32) between the contact point with the plug-side central conductor and the connection point with the object.

    Abstract: A coaxial connector for use in connecting a first coaxial cable having a terminal processed in advance, to a second cable. The first cable comprises a central conductor, an insulator surrounding the conductor, a braid surrounding the insulator for shielding the same, and a sheath surrounding the braid for protecting the same. The coaxial connector comprises a sleeve section having an inner peripheral surface in close contact with an outer peripheral surface of the sheath, and a shell section integral with the sleeve section in coaxial relation thereto. A plurality of soldering bores are formed in the shell section and cooperate with each other to form passageway through which molten solder can pass to fill up an annular gap formed between an outer peripheral surface of the braid and an inner peripheral surface of the shell section.

A method of making a female coaxial connector, which comprises the steps of stamping conductive shells and protective members in integral form, folding the integral conductive shell and protective member at a bend to form a double structure, and making the double structured conductive shell and protective member into cylindrical form, followed by the insertion of an assembly of a dielectric body and a female terminal into the conductive shell.
