    Abstract: An ethylene-(meth)acrylate-based elastomer having a structure in which 40 to 79.9 mol % of ethylene, 20.0 to 50.0 mol % of an alkyl (meth)acrylate containing an alkyl group having 1 to 8 carbon atoms and/or an alkoxy (meth)acrylate containing an alkoxyalkyl group having 2 to 8 carbon atoms, 0.05 to 20.0 mol % of an unsaturated dicarboxylic acid, and 0.001 to 20.0 mol % of an unsaturated dicarboxylic anhydride are copolymerized, and having a melt flow rate of 0.01 to 100 g/10 min measured under the conditions of a temperature of 190° C. and a load of 2.16 kg. The ethylene-(meth)acrylate-based elastomer gives a vulcanizate having excellent heat resistance, oil resistance, and molding processability.

    Abstract: A flood prediction system for predicting a flood depth of a flood prediction location on land that will be flooded by waves includes a prediction formula generator to select, based on maximum wave heights of the waves at observation positions on water and a flood depth of each land-based area that will be flooded by the waves, at least one of the observation positions in order to predict the flood depth of the flood prediction location within a land-based area and to generate a prediction formula for predicting the flood depth of the flood prediction location, and a flood depth predictor to acquire, from a sensor, a maximum wave height measurement value of the observation position selected by the prediction formula generator and to predict the flood depth of the flood prediction location by using the prediction formula.

    Abstract: A method of producing inorganic fibers includes heating and melting an inorganic raw material that includes 70 wt % or more of silica and 10 wt % to 30 wt % of magnesia and calcia in total in a container to obtain a melt having a melt viscosity of 15 poise or less, supplying the melt to a rotor that rotates at an acceleration of 70 km/s2 or more, drawing the melt due to a centrifugal force caused by rotation of the rotor to obtain fibers, blowing the fibers off by blowing air around the rotor, and collecting the fibers to obtain fibers having an average fiber diameter of 5 ?m or less.
