  • Publication number: 20040223284
Abstract: There is disclosed an electrostatic attracting method in which a direct-current voltage is applied to an electrode disposed at a table formed of a dielectric material to attract/hold a substrate onto a holding surface of the table with an electrostatic force produced thereby, the method comprising a first step of applying a voltage having a predetermined polarity to the electrode to charge the holding surface with an electric charge having a polarity different from that applied to the electrode, a second step of holding the substrate in contact with the holding surface to prevent electric charges charged on the holding surface from disappearing, and a third step of applying a voltage having a polarity different from that applied in the first step to the electrode in a state in which the substrate contacts the holding surface to produce an electric charge having the same polarity as that charged at the holding surface in the first step on the holding surface of the table, and attracting/holding the substrate w

  • Patent number: 6789595
Abstract: At least when an upper glass substrate 3 held by an upper retention head 10 and a lower glass substrate 4 held by a lower retention head 11 are abutted on each other through a sealing material 5, air cylinders 25, 25 apply a lifting force balancing with a dead weight of the upper retention head 10 to the upper retention head 10 to cancel its dead weight. In this state, the upper glass substrate 3 and the lower glass substrate 4 are abutted on each other through the sealing material 5.

  • Patent number: 5500997
Abstract: A work mounting apparatus has a head drum rotated in one direction, work heads arranged on the outer periphery of the drum, each work head including a suction nozzle projecting from the work head toward a circular travel path, for moving along the travel path while keeping a fixed orientation and repeating a cycloidal motion during rotation of the head drum, a work feeder arranged on the travel path, and a movable table arranged on the travel path at a distance from the work feeder, for receiving thereon a printed board, wherein the suction nozzle of each work head sucks up a work from the work feeder and releases the sucked work at a desired release position on the travel path. The movable table is moved along a line intersecting the travel path, whereby a target point on the printed board, at which the work is to be mounted, is brought to the release position on the travel path, in cooperation with cycle control of the cycloidal motion of the work head.
