  • Publication number: 20030163907
Abstract: A pile product, wherein shrinkable staple fibers and non-shrinkable staple fibers are mixed to prepare a sliver, and the sliver is subjected to pile-processing to constitute a pile portion. The sliver contains 20 to 98% by weight of the shrinkable staple fiber having a shrinkage percentage of 15% or more, 0.300 or less of statical friction coefficient between fiber-fiber after shrinkage, an average fiber length of 15 to 25 mm, and larger waves, including primary crimps, of 1 to 3/inch, and has a sliver strength of 3 g/g/m or more. The shrinkable staple fiber preferably has an organopolysiloxane deposited on the surface thereof. The sliver is subjected to pile-processing to constitute a pile portion. Operating property is good in spinning fibers which constitute a pile portion, and fiber loss in pile-processing is less. The pile product is excellent in a drape property, and has an appearance- and a feeling, very similar to those of a natural fur.

  • Patent number: 6465099
Abstract: A process of producing a vinyl chloride fiber with a small fineness having seven-tenth to half of the full luster surface and feel remarkably similar to human hair is provided. The process provides the vinyl chloride fiber comprising a vinyl chloride resin composition obtained by formulating (a) 1-35 parts by weight of ethylene-vinyl acetate resin, (b) 0.2-5.0 parts by weight of thermal stabilizer, and (c) 0.2-5.0 parts by weight of lubricant to 100 parts of a vinyl chloride mixture consisting of 100-60% by weight of a vinyl chloride resin and 0-40% by weight of chlorinated vinyl chloride resin. The process also provides the vinyl chloride fiber obtained by melt spinning the resin composition described above. The vinyl chloride fiber is useful for an artificial hair fiber for the decoration of hair or a doll's hair fiber such as a doll hair.

  • Patent number: 5976693
Abstract: A synthetic fiber of acrylic series having an excellent animal-hair feeling is provided. The surface of the fiber having unevenness, in which the center-line mean roughness of the outer periphery of the cross-section of the fiber lies within a range of 0.01 to 0.13 .mu.m, is adhered thereon with an organopolysiloxane, wherein an effect by a treatment with silicone may be obtained to a greatest extent to provide the fiber having an extremely excellent animal-hair feeling. The kinds and amounts of additives to be added to a spinning solution may be so controlled that the roughness of unevenness on the surface of the fiber lies within the above range, thereby the appearance of the fiber with or without gloss may be selected. When the roughness of the surface unevenness lies within the above range and the cross-section of the fiber is a circle, or a flat or oval section having an aspect radio of 10 or less, a fiber having an extremely excellent animal-hair feeling may be obtained.

  • Patent number: 5331066
Abstract: The present invention provides a process for producing a polyester ether copolymer which comprises conducting polycondensation after or while melting and mixing a polyester, of 0.3 (dl/g) or more in intrinsic viscosity, and a polyether having hydroxy groups or their derivatives at its terminals and having a molecular weight of 200 or more. The present invention can dispense with the steps of esterification, transesterification, etc., because of the use of the preformed polyester. Moreover, it shortens the reaction time so that only a small quantity of polyester is produced as a by-product. In addition, since the thermal history of the polyesterh is so small, deterioration of the polymer during production is suppressed. Furthermore, this process enables continuous production of products with good quality, which serves to markedly improve productivity.
