  • Patent number: 5770848
Abstract: An automatic code recognizing apparatus includes an arithmetic operation unit for calculating the distance from a barcode scanner to the upper surface center of an article to be detected and the distances from barcode scanners to the side surface centers of the article to be detected based on detection signals from a height sensor and a TV camera. A mirror is controlled to focus the focal positions of the barcode scanners on the upper surface center and side surface centers of the article based on the result of calculation of the arithmetic operation unit. With this arrangement, there can be provided the automatic barcode recognizing apparatus capable of recognizing a barcode with a pinpoint accuracy and excellent responsiveness.

  • Patent number: 5697696
Abstract: An original illuminating apparatus for use in a copying apparatus, an image reader, or a facsimile is provided with a fluorescent lamp having a long tube wall to illuminate an original; a heat radiating member provided at a position opposite to the original illuminating side of the fluorescent lamp; and a thermal coupling member which is close to the tube wall of the fluorescent lamp and the heat radiating member and is thermally coupled thereto. The thermal coupling member is provided within an effective light emission length in the longitudinal direction of the fluorescent lamp at a position different from the original illuminating side of the fluorescent lamp or on the side that is almost opposite to the original illuminating side of the fluorescent lamp.

  • Patent number: 5486903
Abstract: The present invention has a detection device for detecting the thickness of a recording material by using an air capacitor, and an image forming device for forming an image on the recording material on the basis of the output from the detection device. The present invention can thus prevent omission in transfer and fixing failure, thereby forming a good image.

  • Patent number: 5193150
Abstract: A data transfer apparatus, in which when significant length data having a data length longer than the capacity of a communication bus is inputted/outputted through the communication bus into/from a data storage means, a part or the whole of the data transferred through the communiction bus is temporarily stored in a transfer processor so as to combine the data to be in the form of the significant length data so that the significant length data formed by the transfer processor supplied to the data storage means.

  • Patent number: 5122971
Abstract: Information with respect to the shapes and attaching positions of component parts which are necessary for a construction work is stored into a design information memory device by use of a keyboard, an image of a construction location is picked up by a TV camera before the component parts are actually processed, the image is processed to obtain observation information, and the shapes and attaching positions of the component parts are corrected using the observation information and the design information which has already been stored. The corrected information obtained by the correction is stored into a corrected information memory device. A processing device processes the component parts by preferentially using the corrected information. An attaching device attaches the processed component parts to the construction locations while using the corrected information.

  • Patent number: 4813339
Abstract: Parallel, pulse-width-modulation controlled three-way valves each both supply and exhaust a pressure chamber of a fluid actuator. The phase difference of the oscillator carrier waves of the pulse width modulation input circuit effectively increases the frequency of a net actuator carrier wave so as to quicken the response of the actuator.
