  • Publication number: 20070186356
Abstract: A washing machine and a controlling method thereof are provided. The washing machine and controlling method use a sensor to sense a load of laundry at a predetermined point during a wash cycle, and controls the rotating speed of a drum based on whether the sensed load of laundry is a small load or a single article, in order to untangle laundry and implement a spin cycle.

  • Publication number: 20070028398
Abstract: A laundry treatment apparatus according to the present invention includes a condensing pool disposed within a water supply port formed in a tub. A water supply passage is formed between the condensing pool and the water supply port. The laundry treatment apparatus further includes a cap that guides water, which is supplied to the water supply port, to the condensing pool, and stops steam flowing backward through the water supply passage so that the steam is introduced into the condensing pool. The steam flowing backward from the inside of the tub to the water supply port of the tub is brought into contact into with the water contained in the condensing pool formed in the water supply port of the tub and is condensed. Therefore, the present invention is advantageous in that it can prevent the pollution of a detergent holder or peripheral portions thereof, which may occur when the steam flows backward into the detergent holder or peripheral portions thereof via the water supply port of the tub.

  • Publication number: 20070023591
Abstract: An automatic height adjustment leg of a laundry handling apparatus according to the present invention comprises a cylinder mounted to a base of a laundry handling apparatus; a piston movably arranged inside the cylinder; a elastic member installed in the cylinder so as to elastically support the piston; and a leg penetrating the cylinder and fixed to the piston. There are provided advantages that the horizontality of the laundry handling apparatus may be automatically adjusted as the piston and leg move on and vibration may be absorbed and reduced by the elastic member.

  • Publication number: 20060231726
Abstract: A horizon control structure for a washing machine is provided. The structure includes: a stopper base having a base body having a predetermined diameter, a sleeve mount hollow depressed inside of the base body and having a predetermined diameter, at least one protrusion insertion through-hole being at a distance and provided inside of the base body, and a slip preventing part provided on a bottom surface of the base body; and a leg stopper layered on the stopper base, and having a stopper body having a predetermined diameter, an insertion sleeve extended from a rear surface of the stopper body and having a predetermined diameter and length, and an insertion protrusion protruded from a rear surface of the stopper body and having a predetermined length.

  • Publication number: 20060162393
Abstract: The present invention relates to a lather backflow preventive structure in a washing machine, and more particularly, to a lather backflow preventive structure in a washing machine for preventing lather or vapor from flowing back to a detergent box from an inside of a drum or a tub through a passage having the detergent introduced therethrough, and a washing machine with the same. The lather backflow preventive structure is positioned between the tub and the detergent box, and prevents lather or vapor from flowing back. The lather backflow preventive structure has a detergent box side passage formed at one end thereof for communication with the detergent box, and a tub side passage at the other end thereof for communication with the tub, for preventing lather from flowing back to the detergent box from the tub. A flow path is formed from the detergent box side passage to the tub side passage such that washing water can flow from the detergent box to the tub, the flow path formed at least partially hollow.

  • Publication number: 20060010614
Abstract: A washing machine and a method of controlling the same that is capable of determining whether laundry is a single load or a multiple load based on detected value of eccentricity or detected laundry amount and changing revolutions per minute of a motor or the number of eccentricity detections based on the determined load amount such that different spin-drying actions are performed. The washing machine comprises an eccentricity detecting unit for detecting eccentricity of laundry received in a drum, a motor driving unit for driving a motor such that the drum is rotated, and a microprocessor for determining whether the laundry is a single load or a multiple load based on the value of eccentricity detected by the eccentricity detecting unit and changing revolutions per minute of the motor or the number of eccentricity detections of the eccentricity detecting unit based on the initially determined load amount.
