The invention includes a server operable to receive from an advertiser a selection of one of the at least two different categories of locations. The invention further selectively display of advertising content only on the selected one of the at least two different categories of locations. An alternate location for advertisement space may be provided for displaying an advertisement that is associated with a losing bid.
