Abstract: A method for provisioning one or more mobile applications. The method including deploying the mobile application as a web service in a UDDI directory, downloading the mobile applications from the UDDI directory by invoking the web service. The method may also include locating the mobile application in the UDDI directory. The method further includes extending a WSDL template to define the mobile application, wherein the extending provides for wrapping the mobile application as the web service, and publishing the WSDL defined mobile application in the UDDI directory.

Abstract: A method for processing source data from a plurality of diverse sources in a selected data domain includes specifying a unified schema that lists markup tags in the selected data domain that can exist in a document in the markup language and defining correspondences of data fields from the sources to the markup tags listed by the schema. The source data are mapped in accordance with the correspondences to generate unified data in the markup language.

The method includes receiving a user command to scroll the data displayed on the screen, scrolling the data displayed on the screen so that a line of data in proximity to a first edge of the screen is shifted to appear in proximity to a second edge opposite the first edge after scrolling, and visually marking the shifted line of data. Apparatus, and a computer software product, for performing the above method is also provided.

Abstract: A method for telephone communications includes providing a protocol that defines a relation between predetermined graphic elements and respective sequences of dual-tone multi-frequency (DTMF) signals. A screen to be displayed is designed, including one or more of the graphic elements. An encoded representation of the screen is then generated using DTMF signals in accordance with the protocol. The encoded representation is transmitted over a telephone line to a telephone subscriber unit, whereby the one or more graphic elements are displayed by the subscriber unit responsive to the encoded representation of the screen.

Abstract: A method for processing an electronic mail (e-mail) message having an attachment is provided. The method includes receiving as input from a sender the e-mail message and the attachment, for transmission across a network to a recipient. Respective first and second priorities are assigned for transmission of the message and the attachment. The message is sent to the recipient at the first priority, and the attachment is sent to the recipient at the second priority.

Abstract: A device for storing data relating to a printed work, including an electronic memory, fixed to the printed work, containing at least a portion of the information in the printed work. The device additionally includes a communications port, coupled to the memory, through which a computer external to the printed work accesses the information stored in the memory.
