  • Patent number: 4796804
Abstract: A pop up sprinkler utilizes a diaphragm valve oriented in a vertical manner within the sprinkler water inlet. The valve has a circular bellows surrounding a core and is movable between an expanded position embracing the core and a relaxed position displaced from the core. In the displaced position water flow through the sprinkler is allowed, such flow passing about the core in a manner which creates minimal pressure loss in the valve.
