  • Patent number: 7333445
Abstract: Some embodiments of the present invention are directed to a method and system for monitoring and recording voice from circuit-switched switches via a packet-switched network. A circuit-switched or VoIP recording system may record and/or live-monitor telephone calls by trunk and/or extension tapping over a packet-switched network Alternatively, a circuit-switched or VoIP recording system may record and/or live-monitor telephone calls over a packet-switched network by activating the service observation feature of the circuit-switched switch either by feature code dialing or a computer telephony integration (CTI) link command.

  • Patent number: 7010106
Abstract: A system and method for recording and/or otherwise monitoring IP multimedia sessions. The present invention features a recording and/or monitoring device, referred to hereinafter as “a recording device” for the purposes of clarity only and without any intention of being limiting. The recording device is a participant in the IP multimedia session, although preferably the recording device only receives data for recording and/or otherwise monitoring the session. Therefore, the IP multimedia session is preferably a multi-user session, such as a “conference call” for example, even if data is being provided for recording from only one of the participants in the session.

  • Publication number: 20050198252
Abstract: A system and a method for monitoring a computer network to detect data packets including audio or video data, such packets being part of a communication session, for storing these packets and for reconstructing the communication session upon request. To enable the system to store packets independently of the protocol used to set up the communication session, for example in a Voice Over IP environment, the system includes a link to the gatekeeper of the computer network.

  • Publication number: 20040100507
Abstract: A system and method for the collection of data with regard to the actions of the user during an interactive session over a network. The present invention preferably features a client which is operated by the computational device of the user, and which more preferably collects information both about user input device actions and the reactions which are displayed through the user interface. The user interface is preferably a GUI (graphical user interface), but optionally and more preferably is a Web browser interface. Alternatively, the user interface is any type of interface which becomes altered upon receiving user input through a user input device. The client preferably collects these different types of data and then more preferably sends the data to be stored in a central database.

  • Patent number: 5937029
Abstract: A novel logging system employing M?(N+1! redundancy is disclosed having applications in recording both voice and facsimile transactions. The logging system includes M chains of N+1 loggers. Each N+1 chain includes N working loggers and a single spare logger. Within each chain, each working logger is coupled to a switch unit. Each switch unit is coupled between a group of input telephone lines and one working logger. The switch units are coupled to each other in a serial daisy chain fashion. The switch furthest downstream is coupled to a spare logger which is activated in the event one the working loggers fails. The switches include watchdog circuitry to detect the failure of a working logger. Once detected, the telephone lines coupled to the failed logger are rerouted to the spare logger. The system can support any number of working loggers by sectioning the working loggers into separate chains. Each chain includes a group of N working loggers covered by a single spare logger.
