  • Patent number: 7568514
Abstract: The inventive device for enclosing histological and biological samples comprises a platform for an object glass and means for placing a cover glass thereto. Said means for placing the cover glass is embodied in the form of a comb arranged above the platform and provided with a mechanism for a pendulous (the first embodiment of the device) or reciprocating (the second embodiment of the device) motion above said platform. The platform is limited by a vertical arrest which is arranged on the side of the means for placing a cover glass and provided with slots for accommodating the comb teeth therein. In addition, said device can be provided with a rolling press arranged above the comb.

  • Patent number: 6902928
Abstract: The invention relates to a treatment compartment (1) for treating histological samples with treating agents (2, 2?, 2?). The treatment compartment (1) comprises a housing (3) with an inlet and outlet (4, 4?) for the treating agents (2, 2?, 2?), a rotatable retaining device (5) which receives the samples and a closable access opening (6) on the front (7). The aim of the invention is to improve a treatment compartment (1) of the above kind in such a way that it has a compact design and is easily accessible without the risk of the treating agents (2, 2?, 2?) emerging.

  • Publication number: 20040053341
Abstract: A method of processing histological and biological specimens includes the sequential immersion of specimens into an aqueous solution of fixing agent, into at least three dehydrating liquids containing water and into at least three waterless dehydrating liquids. A chemical marker is added to the water contained in the aqueous solution of fixing agent, and a chemical indicator, forming a colored composition with the chemical marker, is added to the waterless dehydrating liquid. On appearance of a visually perceptible coloring in the waterless dehydrating liquid, that liquid is renewed. Ethyl and isopropyl alcohols or mixtures based thereon are used as dehydrating liquids. Transition metal salts having an oxidation rate of 2+ are used as chemical markers, such as salts of iron, cobalt, nickel, copper and zinc in the amount of 2-40 g (on the basis of metal) per liter of water.

  • Patent number: 6521186
Abstract: A covering device places cover glasses on object carriers. The object carriers are held in a holder in a position inclined relative to the horizontal. The cover glasses are placed on the object carriers by a rotational movement. A pivot pin of the segment that places the cover glasses on the object carriers is mounted so as to be horizontally displaceable, such that when the cover glasses are positioned, they press on the object carriers in a rolling motion to prevent bubbles from forming in the specimen being mounted.

  • Patent number: 6413767
Abstract: The device for processing and infiltration of histological specimens according to the invention applied for comprises a rotating means consisting of a ring of containers for cassettes with histological specimens which is mounted on a horizontal rotation axis in the vertical plane. The inner diameter of the ring is 2-4 times the width of a cassette for histological specimens. The rotating means is located in a case, which is connected to tanks for processing and infiltration fluids and to a vacuum pump through branch pipes. The rotating means is connected to a means for rotating it at variable rate.
