  • Publication number: 20190095744
Abstract: A method makes a description of a piece of luggage. In order to detect a plurality of features of a piece of luggage, the piece of luggage is detected by a visual detection device, by which an image of the piece of luggage is produced. The visual features of the piece of luggage can be extracted from the image of the piece of luggage, and a description of the piece of luggage can be generated from the extracted visual features of the piece of luggage.

  • Patent number: 8805011
Abstract: An examination apparatus examines an item including a person or a container and has a determination unit for determining a relevance level which can be assigned to the item under examination, in particular a hazard level, and an image capture unit for capturing an image of the item under examination. The examination apparatus has a database, an automated evaluation unit for automatically evaluating at least one section of the image using the database, an evaluation unit operated by a user for the visual evaluation of a section of the image by the user, and an input unit for inputting at least one evaluation input by the user, and a database processing unit for processing the database. The database processing unit processes a database entry using the evaluation input in conjunction with the determination of the relevance level.

  • Publication number: 20090110284
Abstract: To perform character recognition on an object for automatic processing of the object in a processing system, where the object contains at least one character string of processing information, a character string spoken by an operator is processed by a speech recognition procedure to generate a candidate list containing at least one candidate corresponding to the operator-spoken character string. The candidate list and a digital image of an area containing the processing information are made available for an optical character recognition procedure. The OCR procedure is performed on the digital image in coordination with the candidate list to determine if a character string recognized by the OCR procedure performed on the digital image corresponds to a candidate in the candidate list. Any such corresponding candidate is outputted as the character string on the object.
