  • Publication number: 20240112462
Abstract: A system for predicting vegetation encroachment into a utility asset that includes a remote sensing controller that stores a set of 3D data characterizing a utility asset and vegetation in a digital twin database. The digital twin database stores 3D data characterizing the utility asset and vegetation over time. The system further includes a biomass engine that classifies instances of vegetation characterized by the set 3D data stored in the digital twin database as a particular type of vegetation. The biomass engine further generates a growth curve for each instance of vegetation based on the set of 3D data stored in the digital twin database and the particular type of vegetation. Additionally, the biomass engine predicts future growth for each instance of vegetation based on the growth curve and determines if and when each instance of vegetation will exceed an encroachment threshold associated with the utility asset.

  • Patent number: 11687858
Abstract: A system for prioritizing trim requests can include an image processor that identifies a location associated with a customer trim request that includes an image of vegetation and industrial equipment and marks the vegetation and the industrial equipment visible in the image associated with the customer trim request. The system can also include a vegetation maintenance analyzer that searches for a match between the identified location associated with the customer trim request with a location associated with one of a past executed service ticket and a pending service ticket. The maintenance analyzer generates a maintenance profile for the customer trim request based on the results of the search and data in the customer trim request. The system can further include a priority engine that assigns priority to the customer trim request based on the maintenance profile for the customer trim request.

  • Patent number: 11682094
Abstract: Systems and methods to process many power line-down reports. A number of power line-down reports are received from different devices operated by users that specify the location of its device. Based on locations of devices sending the reports, a related set of power line-down reports is determined that likely report a particular power line-down condition. Based on those locations and power line location information, a location of the particular power line-down condition is determined that is a location of a power line that is closest to all locations in the related reports. Based on the related set of reports, a consolidated power line-down report is created with data associated with the particular power line-down condition. The consolidated power line-down report is reported to a power grid trouble report system.

  • Patent number: 11556872
Abstract: A computer-implemented method and system that operates on a server includes a time and expense management interface for obtaining crew specific information for crews maintaining a utility distribution system. The server is coupled to a wireless communication infrastructure for receiving crew specific information. A portable electronic device receives a selection of a crew with members. The portable electronic device receives the identifier of the at least one or more members of the crew. Once verified, the portable device receives time entries and expense entries, for the at least one or more members of the crew. Business rules are applied to the time entries and expense entries. Once the business rules are satisfied, the time entries and expense entries are stored on the portable electronic device. When the portable electronic device is in proximity to the wireless communication infrastructure, the crew specific information is transmitted to server.

  • Publication number: 20220292408
Abstract: A storm damage response system includes a storm ensemble database that stores ensemble forecast models associated with potential storm paths of a storm across a geographic area and an inventory database that stores inventory data associated with location and characteristics of power-providing equipment in the geographic area. A storm damage model algorithm generates a storm response plan comprising an operational procedure for repairing or maintaining power transmission and distribution electric systems to mitigate storm damage impact based on generating a probabilistic model for each of the ensemble forecast models based on the inventory data and calculating a statistical impact value associated with the probabilistic model based on an aggregate of iterative probabilistic simulations for the respective ensemble forecast model. The storm response plan can be generated based on the relative statistical impact value of the probabilistic model of each of the ensemble forecast models.
