Abstract: There is disclosed a method and a system for processing an image-based search suggestion for a first search query. The method is executable at a server. The method comprises receiving the first search query from an electronic device associated with a user; generating a plurality of image-based search suggestions related to the first search query, the image-based search suggestions being based at least partially on past related search queries; ranking the plurality of image-based search suggestions using a first and a second set of ranking parameters to render a first and a second ranked list of image-based search suggestions, respectively; and generating a ranked list of image-based search suggestions by selecting a first portion and a second portion from the first and second ranked list, respectively. The first and second sets of ranking parameters are associated with, respectively, a frequency parameter and a hidden interest parameter.
