  • Publication number: 20090054116
Abstract: A scent dispenser is integratable into a portable device, such as a mobile handset. The scent dispenser has a vibrating element configured to vibrate in an ultrasound frequency range for dispensing a scent material. Scent dispensing can be in response to an incoming signal received by a mobile handset, but scent dispensing can also be controlled by a user. The scent material is stored in a compartment having a channel with a valve and the vibrating element can be used to open the valve for replenishing the scent material when the vibration is in a low frequency range such as 1-10 Hz. The vibrating element can also be used to produce audio signals. Thus, the scent dispenser can also be integrated with a sound producing unit in a mobile electronic device.

  • Publication number: 20080150458
Abstract: The invention relates to an adjustable brake device that can be used in conjunction with a hinge mechanism of a folding electronic device, e.g. a clamshell mobile phone. The adjustable brake device comprises a brake actuator that is able to generate a braking force responsive to a magnetic flux directed to the brake actuator and a magnetic circuit that has a magnetizing device arranged to generate the magnetic flux and a magnetic path arranged to conduct the magnetic flux from the magnetizing device to the brake actuator. At least two elements of the magnetic circuit are movable with respect to each other. A mutual position of the at least two elements can be used for determining strength of the magnetic flux directed to the brake actuator. The braking force can be adjusted in a relatively simple way by adjusting the mutual position of the movable parts of the magnetic circuit.

  • Publication number: 20080121053
Abstract: A latch release for allowing two latched members to be unlatched from each other. The latch release includes a bubble body comprised of an elastic material. The bubble body is adapted to deform such that depressing of a first section of the bubble body in a first direction deforms a second section of the bubble body to push the latched members apart.

  • Patent number: 7298564
Abstract: A digital camera is constructed with multiple lenses mounted in a pair of tubular elements which are nested together for relative axial movement. Movement is provided by piezoelectric actuators mounted externally to a support tube on flexible printed circuit board elements. Each lens tube is provided with a drive rail which extends at least partially over the length of the lens tube and projects radially outward from the periphery of each of the tubes. The rails are accessible to the engagement pads of the piezoelectric actuators to allow the transmission of drive forces to each of the tubes.
