  • Patent number: 11696694
Abstract: In an aspect, this disclosure relates to methods and devices for calibration of capillary blood flow meters for measuring capillary blood flow in absolute flow units (such as mL/minĂ—100 g of tissue). For example, the calibration method utilizes the combination of a wet model device and a dry model device to provide a convenience, easy-to-use, and accurate calibration and measurement in absolute flow units. In an aspect, the dry model device can use thermal conductivity parameters from the wet model device, which can be translated into thermal conductivity parameters in a dry model device, which can be used to calibrate the capillary blood flow meter in absolute units.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 30, 2018
Date of Patent: July 11, 2023
    Assignee: Dermaflow LLC
    Inventor: Ilya Skoletsky
  • Patent number: 11419505
Abstract: The combination of skin-contacted stimulation together with capillary blood flow monitoring is applied in a tandem, coordinated fashion in an integrated system and method to provide early detection of compromised circulation conditions, to provide data useful for prescribing therapeutic treatments including stimulation therapies, and to monitor the effectiveness of various treatments. The disclosed methods and system can apply to a broad spectrum of diagnosed and/or undiagnosed vascular diseases and extend to detection and treatment of limb or appendage injury. An integrated device which can be a portable or a wearable product which makes use of the new system and method is disclosed.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: November 1, 2018
Date of Patent: August 23, 2022
    Assignee: DERMAFLOW LLC
    Inventors: Ilya Skoletsky, Irene Jaffe

  • Patent number: 6221025
Abstract: Apparatus (10) for measuring skin blood flow includes apparatus (12) for applying a predetermined temperature gradient to a portion of skin, thereby to change the temperature thereat from a first temperature to a second temperature; a single temperature sensing element (14) for measuring a temperature at a selected location near the portion of skin; a control apparatus (20) for operating the apparatus (12) for applying a predetermined temperature gradient, and further for operating the temperature sensing element (14) in first and second operative modes; in the first mode the temperature sensing element (14) measuring a first reference temperature at the selected location, and in the second mode the temperature sensing element (14) being operable to measure a second temperature at the selected location; wherein the second mode, the control apparatus (20) operates the apparatus (12) for applying a predetermined temperature gradient so as to maintain the predetermined gradient between the first and second tempe
