  • Patent number: 10687361
Abstract: Systems and methods for providing flexible time masks for transmission in a wireless communication system are disclosed. In some embodiments, a method of operation of a node in a wireless communication system comprises providing, to a wireless device, an indication of a position of a transient period during a time mask, where the position of the transient period is adapted to a clear channel assessment period at the wireless device or the position of the transient period is such that the transient period occurs at least partially during a clear channel assessment period. The time mask defines an OFF period during which a transmitter of the wireless device is to be off, an ON period during which the transmitter of the wireless device is to be on, and the transient period. The transient period is a period during which the transmitter of the wireless device is to ramp-up or ramp-down.

  • Patent number: 10623125
Abstract: According to a disclosed example, an intention of a first wireless communication device to use a first power level and a first time-frequency resource for up-link transmission to a first cellular communication network is detected. At a second wireless communication device, a signal is received from the first device indicative of up-link transmission. The second device determines whether or not an interference (caused by the up-link transmission of the first device and affecting a down-link reception of the second device from a second cellular communication network at a second power level in a second time-frequency resource) has a third power level associated with the first power level that exceeds a power level threshold associated with the second power level.

  • Publication number: 20200007370
Abstract: A wireless device (810) obtains (904) a first transmission time interval (TTI) for transmitting a first signal, and determines (908), based on the first TTI, a first transient time associated with the first TTI that defines a first duration during which a transmit power level of the wireless device changes. The wireless device transmits (912) the first signal using the first transient time. The wireless device obtains (916) a second TTI for transmitting a second signal, wherein a length of the second TTI is different from a length of the first TTI. The wireless device determines (920), based on the second TTI, a second transient time associated with the second TTI that defines a second duration during which the transmit power level of the wireless device changes that is different from the first transient time. The wireless device transmits (924) the second signal using the second transient time.

  • Publication number: 20190373551
Abstract: According to one aspect, a method includes selecting at least one of a common bandwidth scheme and a common power scheme. If the selected at least one scheme includes a common bandwidth scheme, a common bandwidth to be used by the wireless device for transmission of two data channels in two successive short transmission time intervals, sTTIs, that share a common demodulation reference signal, DMRS, is determined. An indication of the common bandwidth to the wireless device to enable the wireless device to set the bandwidth of the two data channels to a common bandwidth value is sent. If the selected at least one scheme includes a common power scheme, then a common power control command to control an output power to be set by the wireless device for two data channels in two successive sTTI, that share a common DMRS is determined.

  • Patent number: 10498500
Abstract: A network node, a communication device and methods therein, for handling dynamic uplink/downlink, UL/DL, subframe configurations when operating in Time Division Duplex, TDD. The network node obtains capability information indicating whether the communication device supports carrier aggregation and/or frequency band combination, and also indicating whether the communication device supports simultaneous reception and transmission of signals on different carriers or frequency bands. The network node then determines UL/DL subframe configurations for the communication device based on the obtained capability information such that the communication device is to use different UL/DL subframe configurations for different carriers or frequency bands, when certain conditions are fulfilled.

  • Publication number: 20190297572
Abstract: According to some embodiments, a method for use in a user equipment (UE) of transmitting wireless signals according to an ON/OFF time mask comprises: obtaining a transmission time interval (TTI) for operating a wireless signal between the UE and a cell; and determining an ON/OFF time mask from a plurality of ON/OFF time masks based on the obtained TTI. The ON/OFF time mask specifies a length and position of transient periods for power ramp up and ramp down with respect to an associated TTI. The method further comprises transmitting the wireless signal in the cell according to the determined ON/OFF time mask. For example, determining the ON/OFF time mask may comprise determining one ON/OFF time mask if a length of the obtained TTI is below a threshold, and determining a different ON/OFF time mask if the length of the obtained TTI is equal to or above the threshold.

  • Patent number: 10420028
Abstract: In some embodiments, a method of multi-connectivity operation of a wireless device in Discontinuous Reception (DRX) comprises determining whether a first DRX ON duration in a first DRX cycle configured for use by the wireless device in a first Cell Group (CG) for multi-connectivity operation and a second DRX ON duration in a second DRX cycle configured for use by the wireless device in a second CG for multi-connectivity operation partially overlap in time with one another. The method further comprises, upon determining that the first DRX ON duration and the second DRX ON duration partially overlap, taking one or more actions that mitigate the partial overlap between the first DRX ON duration in the first DRX cycle and the second ON duration in the second DRX cycle. By avoiding partial overlap, interruptions at the wireless device as a result of transitioning between DRX states can be mitigated or avoided.
