Abstract: A computerized value-added tax (VAT) system comprising a VAT calculation server including a processor and associated memory is provided. The processor is configured to execute instructions using the memory to receive from a payment processor server system, at least one of a plurality of VAT calculation parameters associated with a payment transaction. The processor is further configured to determine a location of a consumer based upon the at least one of the plurality of VAT calculation parameters, perform a determination of a VAT percentage based upon the at least one of the plurality of VAT calculation parameters and the location of the consumer. The processor is further configured, if the determination is successful, and in communication with the payment processor server system, to transmit the determined VAT percentage along with a successful calculation message, and send a request for transfer of VAT funds for the payment transaction.
