  • Patent number: 11605508
Abstract: The present invention relates in part to a polymer functionalized with a bio-ionic liquid to form a gel electrolyte. The gel electrolyte thus formed is biocompatible and biodegradable. In certain embodiments, the electrolyte is used for making implantable 3D printed energy storage devices.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 8, 2019
Date of Patent: March 14, 2023
    Assignee: Rowan University
    Inventors: Iman Noshadi, Vaishali Krishnadoss
  • Patent number: 11389583
Abstract: The present invention relates to novel biocompatible oxygen gas generating devices that can be implanted into a living subject. In certain embodiments, the oxygen gas generating devices can be used to deliver oxygen gas to tissue in a subject, thereby stimulating tissue growth and repair. In other embodiments, the devices operate by electrolytically splitting endogenous water in a subject. In yet other embodiments, the device further comprises an implantable supercapacitor capable of supplying energy to the oxygen gas generating device.
    Type: Grant

  • Patent number: 11028211
Abstract: A biodegradable and biocompatible hydrogel of tunable conductivity is provided. The hydrogel includes a polymer conjugated to a bio-ionic liquid. The mechanical and electrical properties of the hydrogel can be varied by altering the ratio of the polymer to the bio-ionic liquid in the conjugated polymer. These properties can be varied also by changing the percent weight of the conjugated polymer in the hydrogel. A method for preparing the hydrogel is also provided.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 29, 2016
Date of Patent: June 8, 2021
