Abstract: A method for distributing content from a content server in at least one private network including at least three terminals able to exchange data, the bandwidth with which at least one terminal is able to connect to the server being insufficient to allow the distribution of the content to each of the terminals via a connection of each to the server, the method including steps of: listing at least one of the terminals as master client and at least two other of the terminals as slave clients; transmitting at least one portion of the content to be distributed to this master client, especially via the connection to the content server; bringing the master client to push at least one portion of the content to be distributed to at least one of the slave clients of the private network via the links existing between the terminals within the private network.

Abstract: Method of management of a peer-to-peer network operating according to at least one exchange protocol aimed at disseminating items of content within the network between a plurality of peers, wherein during the dissemination of an item of content between two peers, the peer receiving the item receives a piece of information relating to the state of the peer-to-peer network including at least one value of a parameter of the network originating from peers other than those with which the peer is connected, and after each receipt of an item, the peer determines, on the basis of the piece of information accompanying the item received, at least one value of the parameter of the peer-to-peer network, so as to induce a manner of operation of the exchange protocol dependent on the updated values of the parameters of the network and at least one parameter representative of the state of the peer.
