    Abstract: The method provides a way to obtain geometric properties of an anatomic part defined in a model representing the actual anatomic part in a computer or the like. The geometric properties are calculated using analytic-function parameter values of a plurality of basic-geometry items forming an analytic representation approximating the anatomic part. The analytic-function parameter values are computed by performing an optimization technique.
