  • Patent number: 12353631
Abstract: An electronic device displays a user interface including a slider control that represents a continuous range of values between a first value and a second value, the slider control includes a first end that corresponds to the first value and a second end that corresponds to the second value, and the slider control further includes a movable indicator configured to move along the slider control between the first and the second end. The device detects a contact on the slider control followed by a movement of the contact. In response to the movement detection, the device moves the moveable indicator along the slider control and generates a tactile output upon the moveable indicator reaching the first end of the slider control with a tactile output pattern configured based on a movement speed when the moveable indicator reaches the first end.

  • Publication number: 20250199677
Abstract: An electronic device displays a messaging user interface, including a conversation transcript of a messaging session between a user of the electronic device and another user, and a representation of a media item. The messaging session is configured to allow synchronized viewing of the media item by the user and the other user. In response to receiving a request for synchronized viewing, the electronic device initiates playback of content corresponding to the media item and displays the playback of the content at a fixed position relative to a portion of the messaging user interface. While displaying the content playback, the electronic device displays messages exchanged between the user and the other user below the displayed content playback. In response to detecting an end of the content corresponding to the media item, the electronic device ceases to display the content corresponding to the media item at the fixed position.

  • Patent number: 12314560
Abstract: An electronic device, while displaying messaging user interface that includes a conversation transcript of a messaging session between a user of the electronic device and at least one other user, a plurality of electronic stickers, and a message-input area, detects a drag gesture that starts while a focus selector is at a first location in the messaging user interface that corresponds to an electronic sticker in the plurality of electronic stickers, and in response, moves the electronic sticker in the first direction in accordance with movement of the drag gesture. Upon termination of the drag gesture while the focus selector is at a second location in the messaging user interface, if the second location is within the conversation transcript, the electronic device places the electronic sticker in the conversation transcript at a location based on the second location, and otherwise ceases to display the electronic sticker.

  • Publication number: 20250156066
Abstract: An electronic device, in response to detecting an input that includes a combination of eye movement and finger movement: processes the input with a first gesture recognizer for an operating system application; and processes the input with a second gesture recognizer for a first software application, distinct from the operating system application. If the first gesture recognizer recognizes the input, based on the combination of eye movement and finger movement, the electronic device performs an operation defined by the operating system application and transitions the second gesture recognizer into an event impossible state. If the second gesture recognizer recognizes the input, the electronic device delays performance of an operation defined by the first software application for the input until the first gesture recognizer indicates that the input does not match the gesture definition of the first gesture recognizer.

  • Publication number: 20250156033
Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer program products, for presenting user interface elements. A first page of one or more user interface elements is presented on a touch-sensitive display. Each of the user interface elements corresponds to a respective application. A gesture performed on the touch-sensitive display is detected. In response to the detected gesture, a second page of one or more user interface elements is presented on the touch-sensitive display.

  • Publication number: 20250155983
Abstract: In some implementations, a computing device can be configured to automatically turn off notifications when generating a notification would cause a disturbance or be unwanted by a user. The device can be configured with quiet hours during which notifications that would otherwise be generated by the computing device can be suppressed. In some implementations, quiet hours can be configured as a time period with a start time and an end time. In some implementations, quiet hours can be derived from application data. For example, calendar data, alarm clock data, map data, etc. can be used to determine when quiet hours should be enforced. In some implementations, the device can be configured with exceptions to quiet hour notification suppression. In some implementations, the user can identify contacts to which the quiet hours notification suppression should not be applied.

  • Publication number: 20250138692
Abstract: Methods and systems for simulating light interaction and physical materials in a graphical user interface (GUI) of a resource-constrained device are provided. Simulating physical materials, such as glass and metal, in a GUI can allow a user to feel more natural in interacting with the GUI. The user experience can be further enhanced if the simulated physical materials in the GUI can interact with the device's environment in a manner similar to how the actual physical materials would interact. However, continually polling various sensors can be resource-intensive, especially for resource-constrained mobile devices. Accordingly, a mobile device can intelligently determine whether to begin a reduced detail mode, and then render user interface objects in the reduced detail mode to conserve resources.
