  • Patent number: 5170756
Abstract: An arrangement for changing the relative rotating position of shafts in an internal-combustion engine has a camshaft, which can be rotated with respect to a shaft driving it, that has a phase converter with a piston which is acted upon hydraulically on both sides. The sprocket wheel driving the camshaft has an external toothing. A toothing, which is connected with the camshaft via a hollow shaft, is constructed as an internal toothing. Corresponding toothings of the piston engage in both toothings. In the camshaft, an axial recess is arranged in which an inserted pipe separates two spaces from one another. An on/off valve fed from the oil circulating system, in one position, via one of the spaces, supplies the piston with oil pressure so that it is axially shifted into a first end position and, in the process, turns the camshaft. In a second position, the piston is axially pushed back by the second space with oil pressure.

  • Patent number: 4714147
Abstract: The one or the other group of transmission speeds of a motor vehicle transmission is adapted to be alternately connected with a double clutch having a clutch housing driven from the engine crankshaft by way of a central shaft and a hollow shaft concentric thereto. For that purpose, two clutch disks are provided which are hydraulically pressed alternately against a center plate of the clutch housing. Two mutually concentric annular pistons serve for the actuation of the clutch disks which are arranged in a two-partite hydraulic plate threadably fastened at the clutch housing.

  • Patent number: 4558607
Abstract: In a gear-type change-speed transmission with synchronized reverse speed, the corresponding pair of gears consists of a loose gear which is adapted to be clutched with the driving shaft and of a fixed gear of the output shaft; an intermediate gear is adapted to be engaged between the loose gear and the fixed gear by means of a pivot lever; the intermediate gear meshes constantly with the loose gear, is brought in a first shifting phase into engagement with the fixed gear over a small partial area of its tooth width load-free and during the further engagement of the reverse speed is engaged into the fixed gear over its full tooth width. Only thereafter the loose gear is coupled torque-transmittingly with the input shaft.
