  • Patent number: 5231857
Abstract: A washing machine comprising a roller type agitator and an auto-balancer. The roller type agitator is provided at the lower portion inside the washing tub 3 and includes at least one roller rotatably mounted thereto in order to generate water flow and provide a bending and stretching action and a squeezing action for said laundry articles and a smooth circulation of washing water. The auto-balancer is provided at the upper portion inside the washing tub and includes a plurality of washing protrusions. The roller includes a plurality of washing water ports at the circumferential outer surface and both side surface thereof, respectively. The present invention can provide a washing machine which can provide a good washing effect and an excellent washability irrespective of the quantity of the laundry articles and the volume of the laundry article.

  • Patent number: 5203044
Abstract: A substantially self-contained system and corresponding method provides practical spot cleaning of soiled garments without requiring the use of chlorinated solvents. A soiled garment may optionally be pretreated with a water base, nonchlorinated cleaner. Thereafter, a relatively high level of vacuum force is applied to the soiled garment to be cleaned while steam is directed onto the spot. The steam comprises the main cleaner when no pretreatment is used, and comprises the flushing agent whenever a water-based pretreatment cleaner is used. Drying effects obtained with the vacuum force may be augmented by the addition of compressed air directed onto the garment. A self-contained workstation practicing such methodology may include an electric water boiler for generating steam and an industrial grade vacuum pick-up with a waste collector for generating the relatively high vacuum force, preferably at least about 80 inches of mercury of static pressure.

  • Patent number: 5176012
Abstract: A pressure and rotary type washing machine and a washing method by using such. The pressure and rotary type washing machine comprises: an agitating member rotatably mounted at a bottom of the washing tube and provided with at least one roller, a pressure member mounted movable upward and downward at an upper portion inside said washing tub and adapted for providing pressure for laundry articles, a rotation driving mechanism adapted for selectively driving the washing tube or the agitating member, and a pressure member driving mechanism adapted for driving the pressure member to move between a rest position and a washing position. The washing method comprises the steps of: positioning the laundry articles between the pressure member and the agitating member inside the washing tub; and driving the agitating member to rotate so that simultaneously with being agitated the laundry articles may be washed by gentle hand washing, beating and scrubbing washing operation.

  • Patent number: 4619070
Abstract: A fishing device has a body with a flat planing surface and a bail for slidably receiving a connector at an end of a fishing line. The bail has a first position for the connector where the planing surface is angled to carry the fishing line to a desired depth below the surface of a body of water and a second position, assumed by the connector when a fish strikes, where the planing surface is angled to move towards the surface of the water as the fishing line is reeled in. The device has a tubular line protector for slidably embracing the leader. The body has a recess for releasably connecting the line protector to the body. There is a fitting for engaging the line protector with the leader so the line protector is disconnected from the body when a fish pulls on the leader. The fitting disengages from the line protector to permit slidable movement of the line protector along the leader after the line protector is disconnected from the body.
