  • Patent number: 11662095
Abstract: A fuel nozzle includes a shroud; an injection cylinder surrounded by the shroud and configured to supply fuel to a combustion chamber; a swirler disposed between the injection cylinder and the shroud; and a porous disk disposed downstream of the swirler to surround an outer peripheral surface of the injection cylinder in order to prevent a flashback phenomenon occurring due to a reduction in pressure around the swirler. The porous disk includes a disk body to block a flame produced in the combustion chamber, and a plurality of flow holes are formed in the disk body through which the fuel flows. It is possible to prevent flashback by installing the porous disk downstream of the swirler, and to impart linearity and a swirling effect to the fuel passing through the fuel nozzle by forming variously configured flow holes in the porous disk.

  • Patent number: 11054140
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a fuel supply device for gas turbines, and a fuel nozzle and gas turbine having the same. The fuel supply device of present disclosure is mounted to the fuel nozzle for a uniform flow of air introduced thereinto and for allowing uniform mixing with fuel. The present disclosure allows a uniform fuel-air mixture to be supplied to a combustion chamber. According to the present disclosure, it is possible to uniformly supply a fuel-air mixture to a combustion chamber by arranging a plurality of perforated plates in a fuel supply device for gas turbines, to suppress generation of nitrogen oxides, and to prevent flame from stagnating or flowing backward.

  • Patent number: 6965689
Abstract: A measuring device for calculating sample volumes and changes in sample volumes is disclosed. The device includes a rotatable platform upon which the sample is placed and rotated in increments with an image of the sample being recorded at each rotational position to which the sample is rotated. The recorded images are digitized and outlined such that the outline can be divided into a plurality of parallel slices. The volume of each slice is calculated by calculating the volume of each portion of the slice represented by each image. The portions are then summed to provide the volume of each slice with the volume of each slice then being summed to provide the volume of the total sample. The device further includes a display apparatus to enable an operator to not only view before and after calculated volumes, but to be provided with a graphical display of the shape of the sample both before and after an event which changes the volume of the sample.
