Abstract: A nanowire composite and a method of preparing the nanowire composite comprise a template having a plurality of hollow channels, nanowires formed within the respective channels of the template, and a functional element formed by removing a portion of the template so that one or more of the nanowires formed within the portion of the template are exposed. Since the nanowire composite can be prepared in a simple manner at low costs and can be miniaturized, the nanowire composite finds application in resonators and a variety of sensors.

Abstract: An apparatus for reducing power consumption in a digital broadcast receiver is provided. An AC-to-DC converter converts input AC power into DC power that can be used in the receiver. A power control switch selectively supplies the DC power from the converter to a tuner unit and a decoder according to a command of a controller. The tuner unit receives broadcast channel signals and demodulates the received broadcast channel signals according to the respective broadcast formats. The decoder receives the demodulated broadcast signals from the tuner unit and decodes analog/digital broadcast signals. A multimedia output port is connected between the decoder and the display unit to transfer the audio/video output signals from the decoder to the display unit. The controller detects the state of the display unit through the multimedia output port to control whether to supply the DC power through the power control switch.

Abstract: The present invention relates to an acrylic pressure sensitive adhesive composition comprising (meth)acrylic copolymers including alkyl(meth)acrylic acid ester monomer having 2˜14 carbon atoms of alkyl group, characterized in that the gel fraction is 10˜55%, the swelling ratio is 30˜110, the weight average molecular weight of sol eluted from the final adhesive by ethyl acetate is at least 800,000, comprising low molecular weight molecule having the maximum 100,000 of weight average molecular weight by 10˜40 wt % of the total sol component; and the above composition show excellent durability under a high temperature and/or humidity condition, and can improve the light leakage phenomenon and provide excellent operability at the time of manufacturing polarizer by effectively providing high modulus and stress release property.

Abstract: An acrylic adhesive composition, an optical film and a liquid crystal display using the same, wherein the acrylic adhesive composition has excellent impact resistance, which improves resistance to external impact of an optical film, increases the wide viewing angle and brightness of an image display, such as a liquid crystal display, and increases durability of the optical film under heat and moist heat conditions. The acrylic adhesive composition having excellent impact resistance includes (a) 100 parts by weight of an acrylic copolymer, (b) 0.01˜10 parts by weight of a crosslinking agent, and (c) 0.5˜20 parts by weight of a polymer having an amino group, the acrylic copolymer being obtained by copolymerizing (1) 0.5˜10 wt % of a vinylic monomer having no carboxyl group, (2) 0.5˜20 wt % of a vinylic monomer having a carboxyl group, and (3) a balance of a (meth)acrylic acid ester monomer having a C1˜C12 alkyl group.

Abstract: This invention relates to a filter for a plasma display panel having excellent re-workability, durability, and reliability and a plasma display panel including the same. The filter for a plasma display panel of this invention is characterized by including an acrylic pressure-sensitive adhesive composition layer having adhesion after the lapse of a predetermined time period that is at least 1.5 times as great as initial adhesion. Since the inventive filter for a plasma display panel has low initial adhesion, when a defect occurs in a process of attaching the filter for a plasma display panel to an upper glass plate of the panel, a separation process may be easily conducted, and also adhesion increases with the lapse of time, thus exhibiting good durability and reliability without air bubbling and peeling.

Abstract: This invention relates to an acrylic pressure-sensitive adhesive composition, including a) 100 parts by weight of an acrylic copolymer containing a hydroxy group without a carboxyl group; b) 0.01˜10 parts by weight of a cross-linkging agent; and c) 0.01˜5 parts by weight of a polyether modified polydimethylsiloxane copolymer having HLB of 4˜13 and having the structure of Formula 1, and to an adhesive sheet formed thereby. The adhesive composition and adhesive sheet according to this invention may exhibit excellent re-workability, durability, and reliability.

The drum has a simple structure enabling the use of standardized segments to facilitate dryer manufacture by reducing production costs, increasing productivity, and reducing failure rates. The drum, which has a cylindrical shape, is composed of a plurality of segments, preferably, three, each arranged axially with respect to the axis of the drum. The drum includes a coupling mechanism, provided on each side edge of each segment, for joining the segments to form the cylindrical shape of the drum.
