  • Patent number: 5595204
Abstract: A multi-use collapsible sun-shade tent consists of a pair of lateral beams and two pairs of lengthwise beams, and four vertical posts and a sun-shade cloth, collapsibly combined together by means of connecters at four corners where the lateral beams and the lengthwise beams meet and at an intermediate portion where two half portions of each lateral beam are connected with each other. The four posts support the four corners where the lateral beams and the lengthwise beams meet and are structured able to be adjusted in height. The sun-shade cloth is held between the two lateral beams and possible to be wound around one collapsed half lateral beam.

  • Patent number: 5483225
Abstract: A shock sensor includes an inductance coil, a magnet, a magnetically soft material, and a support bracket for the magnetically soft material. The inductance coil and the magnet are fixed relative to each other. The magnetically soft material has one side thereof fixed on the support bracket and lies relative to the coil and the magnet so that the magnetically soft material can move up and down as well as leftwardly and rightwardly and inwardly and outwardly when the shock device vibrates and thereby alter a magnetic flux from the magnet to the inductance coil so as to generate signals responsive to the fluctuations of a magnetic flux.

  • Patent number: 5271446
Abstract: A multi-purpose automatically rewindable sun-shade devised to have a quite long resilient curtain which is wound around a winding tubular shaft when it is not in use. The curtain may be pulled out to a needed length for use and rewound automatically on the winding shaft by twisted coil springs. The sun-shade comprises an elongated winding tubular shaft for winding a long curtain thereon, two immovable rods adapted to extend in the interior of the winding shaft, two coil springs fitting around the immovable rods in the winding shaft to generate tension when twisted. The tension force rotates the winding shaft to rewind the curtain after use. The shade has two sleeves assembled around the winding shaft and forming a central through hole for a square end of each of the immovable rods to pass through to engage a central square hole in each of two shaft caps assembled with the two sleeves so that the sleeves and the winding shaft can rotate together between the two shaft caps.

  • Patent number: 5216407
Abstract: A prealarm system is provided for an anti-theft alarm where a signal from a displacement/vibration detector is picked up by a one-shot timer circuit. If no other activation signal is picked up after the first signal is received a main control alarm circuit is activated for (1) driving a siren circuit to generate a short chirp sound as an audible warning, and (2) a flashing circuit to flash a light for a preset period of time as a visible warning. If the number of activation signals received subsequent to the first are greater than a predetermined threshold number, or the activation signal continues for a predetermined period of time, the main control alarm circuit is activated for driving, (1) the siren circuit to give a normal audible signal alarm, and (2) both, the flashing circuit for flashing a light and the dome light control to provide visible signals.

  • Patent number: 5207329
Abstract: A filling tray is made in a rectangular shape having three side edges formed into two vertical end walls and a vertical back wall and the other side edge formed into oblique flanges and comprises two elongated grooves transversely disposed on the top thereof at two opposite ends, a plurality of ribs transversely and latitudinally formed on the bottom thereof, and two elongated rails formed on the top edges of the vertical end walls. By inserting the elongated rails of the filing tray into the elongated grooves of a similarly constructed filing tray, a plurality of filing trays of the same structure can be attached together, with one rising above or behind another, for arranging papers conveniently.

  • Patent number: 5160742
Abstract: A system for delivering an active substance has sustained release of the active substance in the intestinal tract. This delivery system is especially useful for an active substance such as a .beta.-lactam antibiotic which preferably has minimal exposure to the acidic environment of the stomach. Particles comprise an active ingredient disposed in a core which has at least one coating of a prolamine and one coating of an enteric compound thereon. The particles may be very small and suspended in a liquid medium.

  • Patent number: 5101764
Abstract: A method and apparatus for sensing radiation 26 indicative of at least one process variable in a semiconductor process chamber 10 in which a reactant gas reacts to effect changes in a silicon wafer 12. The method comprises positioning a substantially transparent window 22 in a conduit 14 leading to the wafer 12 and then flowing the reactant gas in the conduit 14 past the window 22 and toward the wafer 12. The radiation 26 is then sensed through the window 22. In the preferred embodiment the window 22 is positioned with an optical path along the center axis of the conduit 14. Other systems and methods are also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 5084697
Abstract: An error-free control circuit for burglar alarm detectors which eliminates false alarms and facilitates setting the sensitivity of the detectors by providing an audible pre-warning signal via some alarm warning device to indicate false alarms and impending violation by a burglar an alarm signal from an alarm upon actual violation by a burglar. When the detector detects a false alarm condition, a pre-warning audible signal is sounded by the alarm warning device for easy sensitivity setting during installation. When the detector detects the sounds of tampering to the car, a pre-warning audible signal is sounded by the alarm warning device to warn the would-be burglar that the premises are protected by an armed alarm. Finally, when the detector detects actual violation of the protected premises, the alarm sounds to scare the burglar away. By this means, an alarm detector can be set to give optimum performance under any condition.

  • Patent number: 4980666
Abstract: The invention is a two-step alarm disarming device with automatic rearming which uses sensors and buffer circuits to detect the condition of the car doors, hood, and trunk. It can disarm an alarm in two steps--with a signal input to an exterior key switch buffer for temporary disarming and a signal input to the ignition for permanent disarming. It is comprised of two-step alarm disarming circuits, a flip-flop, a timer, and a buffer for alarm disarming so that the burglar alarm can operate at maximum effectiveness without failure due to external interference or user negligence.
