  • Patent number: 5572263
Abstract: A video signal selection circuit capable of reading automatically the connection state of a plurality of video jack ports and selecting only modes corresponding to video ports which presently have a jack connected thereto. This video signal selection circuit includes a predetermined number of video jack ports, a predetermined number of switches respectively connected to the video jack ports and turned on when a corresponding jack is connected to the video jack port, and a micro-processor which registers the fact that the jack is connected to the video jack port by checking whether the corresponding switch is turned on. The micro-processor outputs a control signal so that the selection circuit selects only those ports to which jacks are connected when a mode conversion key is actuated. A switching portion is controlled by the micro-processor's control signal and selects for output only those video signal sources corresponding to the control signals received from the micro-processor.

  • Patent number: 5262903
Abstract: A programmed recording device for a VCR without a tuner and a method thereof are disclosed. In the programmed recording device, a microprocessor outputs a control signal when carrying out a recording or a playing, and voltage converting means converts the contorl signal of the microprocessor to a voltage. A voltage detection section detects the voltage after receipt of the output of the voltage converting section, and power source switching means are operated by the power source and in according with the voltage detected by the voltage detecting means. A constant voltage circuit converts the AC power source to a constant DC voltage in a state interlocked with the power source switching section in order to activate the TV. According to the present invention, a recording can be started and terminated at the preset time automatically even without a tuner thereby improving the performance of the products.

  • Patent number: 4807821
Abstract: A method for winding stator coils of a single phase induction electromotor comprising winding a starting coil, avoiding winding of the starting coil about selected slots, moving an outer coil pitch to form coil overlapping slots adjacent to the selected unused slots for eliminating unused teeth, whereby the starting coil overlaps the starting coil in the selected slots disposed in a starting winding with a 90.degree. electric angle for increasing the starting torque and promoting the operation efficiency of the electromotor.

  • Patent number: 4605888
Abstract: The switching device of the present invention electrically connects a single-phase induction motor's starting winding to the motor's circuitry upon start-up, and disconnects it once the motor reaches a first predetermined speed. If the motor's speed drops below a second predetermined speed, the switching device reconnects the starting winding to the motor's circuitry until the motor again reaches the first predetermined speed. At start-up, diode bridge D1 turns ON, turning ON SCR S2. With the SCR ON, the diode bridge is short-circuited, drawing a large current through the bridge's a.c. side. This current flows through resistor R8, and the voltage drop across R8 is large enough to turn triac S1 ON. Thus, current flows through starting coil L2. When the motor reaches a first predetermined speed, the voltage across the starting coil is large enough to turn NPN transistor TR2 ON, turning PNP transistor TR1 ON. Accordingly, the SCR turns OFF, eliminating the large current drawn through the a.c.

  • Patent number: 4574229
Abstract: A motor starter and protection circuit is disclosed wherein a bimetallic contact support supports moveable contacts which are electrically interconnected with stationary contacts during normal non-overload conditions. Current from the power support passes through the stationary moveable contact sets as well as the bimetallic contact support and through the main coil of the motor. A positive temperature coefficient resistance is mounted on the contact support in electrical interconnection therewith. Current passes through this resistance, a TRIAC, and the motor starting winding. Conduction of the TRIAC is controlled by sensing the current which passes through the main motor coil. Only when the current passing through the main coil is substantially greater than normal load current is the TRIAC gated into conduction. A phase control capacitance is interposed between the coil sensing current through the main coil of the motor and the TRIAC gate.
