Abstract: A process for measuring strain is provided that includes placing a sample of a material into a TEM as a sample. The TEM is energized to create a small electron beam with an incident angle to the sample. Electrical signals are generated that control multiple beam deflection coils and image deflection coils of the TEM. The beam deflection control signals cause the angle of the incident beam to change in a cyclic time-dependent manner. A first diffraction pattern from the sample material that shows dynamical diffraction effects is observed and then one or more of the beam deflection coil control signals are adjusted to reduce the dynamical diffraction effects. One or more of the image deflection coil control signals are then adjusted to remove any motion of the diffraction pattern.

Abstract: In one or more embodiments, a flip ahead input, such as a gesture, provides touch users with an ability to easily navigate various websites. The flip ahead input can be utilized to advance to the next portion of relevant content. In at least some embodiments, the flip ahead input resides in the form of a forward swipe. In one or more embodiments, the flip ahead input is configured to be utilized in association with an aggregated browsing history from multiple users. The aggregated browsing history is analyzed to generate rules that are then downloaded to a client device and used by a suitably-configured web browser to ascertain the next portion of content when a flip ahead input is received.

Abstract: A family of iron-based, phosphor-containing bulk metallic glasses having excellent processability and toughness, methods for forming such alloys, and processes for manufacturing articles therefrom are provided. The inventive iron-based alloy is based on the observation that by very tightly controlling the composition of the metalloid moiety of the Fe-based, P-containing bulk metallic glass alloys it is possible to obtain highly processable alloys with surprisingly low shear modulus and high toughness. Further, by incorporating small fractions of silicon (Si) and cobalt (Co) into the Fe—Ni—Mo—P—C—B system, alloys of 3 and 4 mm have been synthesized with high saturation magnetization and low switching losses.

In accordance with one or more embodiments, client-side code can be utilized to allow developers associated with a website to define boundaries associated with user interaction, and have those boundaries enforced by a run-time engine. In at least some embodiments, developers can provide, through JavaScript code and/or HTML markup, various configurations for the creation of a start menu shortcut, navigation, and so-called jumplist integration.

Abstract: Various embodiments utilize structured data contained within a resource, such as a web page, to enable a user to define collections of data. Individual constituent parts of a collection or “links” are collected within a collection. In one or more embodiments, a full page viewing experience can be provided which enables users to not only view more details for a given link, but to view multiple different links at a time. Other viewing options and collection interactions are provided.

Abstract: A structure including an Mx level including a first Mx metal, a second Mx metal, and a third Mx metal abutting and electrically connected in sequence with one another, the second Mx metal including graphene, and an Mx+1 level above the Mx level, the Mx+1 level including an Mx+1 metal and a via, the via electrically connects the third Mx metal to the Mx+1 metal in a vertical orientation.

Abstract: Various embodiments provide a model through which service providers can describe offered services using a standardized format. In one or more embodiments, the standardized format is declarative and enables service providers to describe their associated services in a standardized way. In at least some embodiments, the standardized format includes a set of common service properties that are shared across multiple different services. Additionally, service specific properties can be described in addition to the common service properties. In one or more embodiments, existing services can be extended by including, in the standardized format, a description of an extension. In one or more other embodiments, new services can be added for consumption by simply including a description of the new service using the standardized format.

Abstract: Various embodiments utilize certain events that occur within a Web browser to recognize an imminent intent, on the part of the user, to navigate to a website. Given such events, in combination with a user's past browsing patterns and history, an automated and personalized navigation solution can be provided to expedite navigation.

Abstract: An e-fuse structure including a fuse link having a first region made of a first conductor and a second region made of a second conductor. The first conductor and the second conductor are in the same wiring level. The first conductor has a higher electrical resistance than the second conductor. The first conductor has a higher resistance to electromigration than the second conductor. The first region and the second region have a common width. The length of the first region is longer than the length of the second region.

Abstract: A user interface for a touch-screen display of a dedicated handheld electronic book reader device is described. The user interface detects human gestures manifest as pressure being applied by a finger or stylus to regions on the touch-screen display. In one implementation, the touch-screen user interface enables a user to turn one or more pages in response to applying a force or pressure to the touch-screen display. In another implementation, the touch-screen user interface is configured to bookmark a page temporarily by applying a pressure to the display, then allowing a user to turn pages to a new page, but reverting back to a previously-displayed page when the pressure is removed. In another implementation, the touch-screen user interface identifies and filters electronic books based on book size and/or a time available to read a book. In another implementation, the touch-screen user interface converts text to speech in response to a user touching the touch-screen display.

The package substrate includes internal routing connections. The integrated circuit product package also includes a semiconductor die coupled to the package substrate. The semiconductor die includes input/output (I/O) pins and switches. The switches selectively coupled the I/O pins to facilitate a daisy chain connection. The daisy chain connection includes circuitry fabricated on the semiconductor die, more than two of the internal routing connections, more than two of the I/O pins and at least one switch.

Abstract: Methods are provided for producing lubricant base oils from petrolatum. After solvent dewaxing of a brightstock raffinate to form a brightstock base oil, petrolatum is generated as a side product. The petrolatum can be hydroprocessed to form base oils in high yield. The base oils formed from hydroprocessing of petrolatum have an unexpected pour point relationship. For a typical lubricant oil feedstock, the pour point of the base oils generated from the feedstock increases with the viscosity of the base oil. By contrast, lubricant base oils formed from hydroprocessing of petrolatum have a relatively flat pour point relationship, and some of the higher viscosity base oils unexpectedly have lower pour points than lower viscosity base oils generated from the same petrolatum feed. The base oils from petrolatum are also unusual in yielding both high viscosity and high viscosity index and can be generated while maintaining a high yield.

Abstract: A content syndication platform, such as a web content syndication platform, manages, organizes and makes available for consumption content that is acquired from the Internet. In at least some embodiments, the platform can acquire and organize web content, and make such content available for consumption by many different types of applications. These applications may or may not necessarily understand the particular syndication format. An application program interface (API) exposes an object model which allows applications and users to easily accomplish many different tasks such as creating, reading, updating, deleting feeds and the like. Further, in at least some embodiments, a user can subscribe to a particular web feed, be provided with a user interface that contains distinct indicia to identify new feeds, and can efficiently consume or read RSS feeds using both an RSS reader and a web browser.

Abstract: An electronic book reader device leverages a secondary device via an ad hoc network connection to enhance user experience as the user is consuming content on the electronic book reader device. In particular, the secondary device may be equipped with a touch screen and notepad functionality, which may be leveraged to receive user input with respect to content being presented on the electronic book reader device. The user input may take any number of forms, including freeform entry of information (e.g., read notes), control commands, highlights, and so forth.

Abstract: The description relates to threshold views. One example can include a display, storage and a processor. The storage can store instructions for execution by the processor. The processor can be configured to process the instructions to create a graphical user interface (GUI) on the display. The GUI can include a threshold view that shows elements that relate to a family on a given day. The elements can include time bound elements, semi-time bound elements and non-time bound elements.
