The method comprises receiving a term occurrence search request at a text portion of the e-book content, the text portion comprising the term and the content of the e-book is apportioned according to a plurality of content apportionments, determining a frequency of occurrence of the term within respective ones of the content apportionments, rendering a frequency indicator of the frequency of occurrence associated with the respective ones of the content apportionments at the display screen, receiving, at the display screen, a navigation request for transitioning to a selected one of the content apportionments of e-book content, and displaying a summary list of term occurrence content excerpts from the selected content apportionment.

Abstract: A method and system for effecting repagination of e-book content in conjunction with applying a digital bookmark. The method comprises receiving a request for placement of a digital bookmark at a content portion within a current page of the e-book content rendered at the display screen, bookmarking the content portion, and repaginating the current page based on a location of the bookmarked content portion within the current page.

Abstract: A method and system for navigating e-book content (e-reading) via a start-reading interface on a computer device having a touchscreen display. The method comprises accessing an e-book stored in the memory, the e-book having digitally constructed pages arranged in an ordered sequence of a cover page, a cluster of precursor pages and a set of substantive-content pages; receiving a page transition event at the cover page displayed on the display screen; and in response to the page transition event, transitioning past the cluster of precursor pages to display a first page of the set of substantive-content pages in replacement of the cover page at the display screen.

Abstract: A method and system for notifying an observer of the presence of one or more extraneous objects on a touchscreen display of a mobile computing device, in a manner allowing precise droplet removal. In a mobile computing device having display screen including touch sensors, where the processor is capable of inferring a presence of an extraneous object on the display screen based on an interaction with the touch sensors, the method comprises: determining a spatial area around an interaction in response to an inference that an extraneous object is present on the display screen; rendering a perimeter of the spatial area; identifying an obstructed text portion of displayed e-book content encompassed by the perimeter; and repaginating the displayed page in response to displaying the obstructed text portion outside of the perimeter.

The method includes receiving annotation entries at respective content portions of an e-book having text content presented in an ordered sequence; generating an annotations interface page including indicia for the annotation entries, the indicia presented in the pre-ordered sequence of the content portions; receiving a further annotation entry at a further content portion of the e-book; arranging an indicium of the further annotation entry within the respective indicia of the annotation entries of the annotations interface page consistent with an order of the further content portion within the respective content portions; and upon receiving a start-reading input action enacted upon a graphical icon representing the e-book, launching the annotations interface page for display.

The method is executed in a processor of a computing device, the computing device further including a memory storing instructions and a display screen.
