Patent number: 11352213Abstract: A printing system is described, which comprises: a conveyor belt; a first substrate supply mechanism to supply a cleaning substrate to said conveyor belt; wherein said conveyor belt is to advance a supplied cleaning substrate, and said first substrate supply mechanism is controllable to adjust motion of said substrate relative to said conveyor belt such that when said conveyor belt is activated said supplied cleaning substrate slides relative to the conveyor belt; and said printing system further comprising a friction adjustment mechanism to adjust an amount of friction between said conveyor belt and said supplied substrate.Type: GrantFiled: March 27, 2018Date of Patent: June 7, 2022Assignee: Hewlett-Packard Development Company, L.P.Inventors: Roger Terradellas Callau, Brian Carvajal, Inaki Zudaire Rovira

Patent number: 11220116Abstract: In one example, a method of controlling a printing system is described, the method comprising activating a driver to advance a conveyor belt in a plurality of sub-turns. For each of the plurality of sub-turns, a first parameter associated with movement of the conveyor belt is determined, based on data obtained from the driver. For each of the plurality of sub-turns, a second parameter associated with movement of the conveyor belt is also determined, based on data obtained from an optical sensor. A per-sub-turn slippage parameter is calculated for each of the plurality of sub-turns, based on any difference between the first parameter and the second parameter. The method further comprises calculating a slippage metric based on the per-sub-turn slippage parameters for the plurality of sub-turns, and causing outputting of a conveyor belt tension adjustment indication.Type: GrantFiled: June 12, 2017Date of Patent: January 11, 2022Assignee: Hewlett-Packard Development Company, L.P.Inventors: Roger Terradellas Callau, Inaki Zudaire Rovira, Daniel Gutierrez Garcia

Patent number: 10940704Abstract: In one example, a printing system is described, having a conveyor belt, a first optical sensor, a second optical sensor, and a controller. The first optical sensor is located proximate to a first edge of the conveyor belt. The second optical sensor is located proximate to a second edge of the conveyor belt, wherein the second edge is on the opposite side of the conveyor belt to the first edge. The controller receives data related to optical detection of lateral movement of the conveyor belt from the first and second optical sensors, and causes a correction for the detected lateral movement of the conveyor belt in association with a print job of the printing system.Type: GrantFiled: June 12, 2017Date of Patent: March 9, 2021Assignee: Hewlett-Packard Development Company, L.P.Inventors: Roger Terradellas Callau, Inaki Zudaire Rovira, Daniel Gutierrez Garcia

Patent number: 7017423Abstract: The present invention provides a method, apparatus, and a machine for testing in pure bending, optionally in alternating bending. Two mutually identical testpieces are subjected to optionally alternating opposing bending movements while conserving mutual symmetry about a point, under drive from two controlled motor assemblies that are free to move relative to each other. Interfering forces induced in the two testpieces during testing are minimized, and the performance of the testpieces in pure bending can be studied with increased accuracy.Type: GrantFiled: August 12, 2003Date of Patent: March 28, 2006Assignee: Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS)Inventors: Sylvain Calloch, David Dureisseix, Gilles Arnold, Inaki Zudaire Rovira
