    Abstract: An apparatus and method for removing a Direct Current (DC) offset at a receiving terminal in a wireless communication system are provided. In the method, a frame is divided into at least two time resource blocks. Resource allocation information is used to discriminate between at least one time resource block of a data-unmapped interval and at least one time resource block of a data-mapped interval. The DC offset is measured during the data-unmapped interval. The DC offset is compensated during the data-unmapped interval on a time resource block basis by using the measured DC offset.

In an embodiment, the frequency generator respectively receives first reference frequency clock signals from an oscillator of each of the at least two modems and generates a second reference frequency clock signal and the control signal generator outputs a signal for controlling the oscillator of each of the at least two modems according to a frequency offset value estimated in each of the at least two modems.

    Abstract: Disclosed is an apparatus and a method for performing a cell search in a wireless communication system. A subscriber station calculates the power of subcarriers according to their positions in a preamble signal of a frequency domain and identifies a segment of a cell to which the subscriber station belongs. Then, the subscriber station correlates PN sequences, which correspond to the segment of the cell that has been identified, with the preamble signal of the frequency domain. Therefore, the number of calculations for determining correlation values in a cell search is remarkably reduced.
