  • Patent number: 6364820
Abstract: A hose (1) of a flexible plastic material is designed so as to be reformed into a web (2) with mutually sequential packaging blanks (26) separated by transverse slits (27). The hose has a region (15) oriented in the longitudinal direction which is cut on the formation of the web (2). At least one longitudinal thickening (14) is included in region (15). A device for reforming the hose (1) into the web (2) has retainer devices (33a, 33b) provided with a channel having a gap whose width exceeds the thickness of two adjacent hose walls (11a, 11b). A slitting device is located in the channel. Cutting and welding devices (37, 39) form the transverse and longitudinal slits (27, 29) and also form transverse connecting zones between the walls (11, 11b) on either side of each transverse slit (27).

  • Patent number: 6349523
Abstract: A web (20) of sequentially disposed package blanks (26) are supplied to an apparatus for opening and closing the package blanks at a filling station. The web has a first wall (21 a) opposite a second wall (21b). Transverse slits (27) are disposed between the side closures of the package blanks. Each respective wall is provided with retainers at its upper edges which guide the edges when the web is displaced along the apparatus. The wall (21a, b) of each package blank is provided with a longitudinal slit (29a). The slit (29a) of the first wall extends from the transverse slit (27) at one side closure of the package blank, and the longitudinal slit of the second wall extends from the transverse slit at the second side closure of the package blank. The apparatus includes mechanical retainer devices which are disposed in transversely spaced relation from one another in that part of the apparatus where the package blanks are displaced in the opened state so that the blanks can be filled.

  • Patent number: 6021628
Abstract: The invention relates to a web (20) comprising mutually sequentially disposed package blanks (26) and an arrangement for opening and closing the package blanks. The web has longitudinal first and second edges and a first wall (21a) opposite a second wall (21b). Transverse slits (27) are disposed at the side closures of the package blanks. Each respective wall along the second edge is provided with retainers which guide edge portions of the web when the web is displaced along mechanical devices. The walls (21a, b) of each package blank are provided with a longitudinal slit (29a). The slit (29a) in the first wall extends from the slit (27) at one side closure of the package blank, and the slit in the second wall extends from the slit at the second side closure of the package blank.

  • Patent number: 5733045
Abstract: A continuous flexible web (20) with mutually subsequently disposed package pockets (26) and a method of opening and filling these pockets. The web has two opposite walls (21a, b) and longitudinal first and second edges (22, 23) between which the pockets are located. Each respective wall (21a, b) includes, at a second edge region (23), two opposed edge portions (24a, b) with continuous retainer devices (43a, b) disposed in the longitudinal direction of the web for cooperating with mechanical devices for guiding the edge portions on movement of the web in an apparatus for the supply of material to the pockets (26). Between the pockets, there are disposed transverse slots (27) which, in the region of the edge portions (24a, b) merge into longitudinal slots (29). The edge portions (24a, b) include strip-like portions (14a, b) which extend from the retainer devices (43a, b) located between the longitudinal slots (29) and the second edge (23) of the web.

  • Patent number: 5704192
Abstract: A guide mechanism (3) for positioning a continuously flexible packaging web (20) which has two opposite walls (21a, b) defining packaging blanks (26) disposed, in succession, in the longitudinal direction of the web. The packaging blanks have closed bottoms at the lower edge and opposing edge portions (24a, b) at the upper edge (23). The guide mechanism includes mechanical guide members (33a, b) provided with at least one channel (31a, b) for guiding the edge portions (24a, b) during displacement of the web in an apparatus for the supply of material into the packaging blanks (26). The mechanical guide members (33a, b) are formed from a number of links (30). In the region of the apparatus where the edge portions (24a, b) of the web are to be spaced transversely apart, the links are disposed in mutual spaced-apart relationship.

  • Patent number: 5687549
Abstract: A method and apparatus for forming and filling packages in which a flexible strip (10) of plastic material is folded in a central region, in a first station (1), to form a folded web (20) of two substantially opposed walls (21a,b) with first (22) and second (23) end regions disposed in the longitudinal direction of the web. In the first end region (22), the walls are interconnected with one another, and, in the second end region (23) the walls are separate from one another and provided with thickened material. In a second station (2) the web is formed with successively located storage pockets (26), and in a third station (3) the thickened material is engaged and the pockets (26) are opened so as to be filled with material, whereafter the pockets are closed.

  • Patent number: 5004395
Abstract: An arrangment for the discharge of goods (50) from a package band (24) of flexible plastic material comprises a discharge board (60). The package band is provided with pockets (16) placed following one another and is moved along the discharge board so as to place the pockets in positions where a discharging device (71) moves a pusher roll (74) towards a receiving table (82). The pusher roll rests against the outer wall (11b) of the package band and pushes the goods (50) out of pockets (16) of the package band. A retaining device (64) is situated inside a tunnel (18) of the package band and holds the same in place while the pusher roll discharges the goods to the receiving table (82).

  • Patent number: 4943168
Abstract: A package band (10) is formed of two walls (11a, 11b) substantially adjoining one another and made of a flexible material, e.g. plastic material. Each one of the walls extends from a first edge area (12a, 12b) the longitudinal direction of the package band to a bottom edge (23) common to the walls situated in a second edge area (14) of the package band. By forming joints (15) located transversely to the longitudinal direction of the package band storage pockets (16) are formed one behind another. Each one of the walls is provided in its first edge area (12a, 12b) with a first connecting tunnel (17a, 17b) adapted to co-operate with a filling or emptying equipment. In its second edge area (14) the package band is provided with a second connecting tunnel (18) adapted to cooperate with a mechanical element of the filling or emptying equipment.
