Publication number: 20080120069Abstract: Embodiments of the invention may be used to generate an analysis model of a building for use in thermal modeling and other analyses. A method for generating a model for use in determining environmental requirements includes the steps of receiving a computer-aided design (CAD) model of a building design, parsing the CAD model to identify one or more rooms in the building design, and generating a description for each of the one or more rooms. The description of a given room specifies a set of geometric properties describing the given room. The method also includes the steps of determining an environmental requirement of the building design based on the descriptions generated for the one or more rooms and storing the results of the analysis and the determined environmental requirement for review.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 26, 2007Publication date: May 22, 2008Inventors: Jason Martin, Thomas Hans Ingemar Olsson, Lev Minkovsky

Patent number: 6560239Abstract: A method and system enables a packet-switched data communication in a wireless communications system to be quickly and easily reestablished after interruption. The computer communications protocol that has been negotiated during the establishment of the packet-switched data communication may be saved upon interruption and later restored. In an exemplary embodiment, a wireless subscriber activates a call-waiting-type service along with an option to retain a packet-switched data communication. Thereafter, the subscriber may be engaged in a data communication on a packet data channel of the wireless communications system. Acceptance of a subsequent incoming, circuit-switched voice call causes the data packet session to be suspended, but the negotiated parameters of the computer communications protocol are saved. After the subscriber terminates the voice call, another data packet session is established with the saved parameters without needing to renegotiate the computer communications protocol parameters.Type: GrantFiled: July 8, 1998Date of Patent: May 6, 2003Assignee: Telefonaktiebolaget LM Ericsson (publ)Inventors: Lars Anders Frid, Göran Leif Andersson, Ulf Ingemar Olsson, Chris Kannas, Martin Bäckström

Patent number: 4869170Abstract: A firing unit for initiation of detonators, which contain at least one base charge in a detonator casing, which firing unit comprisesan electrically actuable fuse head,a current source connected to the electrically actuable fuse head via switching means, and an electronics unit comprisinga signal decoder designed so as to distinguish a start signal supplied to the detonator via an external signal conductor,a delay circuit designed in such a way that, when the start signal is received, it supplies an ignition signal after a predetermined time andthe switching means, which are designed in such a way that, when the ignition signal is received, they connect the current source to the fuse head in order to electrically actuate the latter, the electronics unit comprising at least one chip made from a semiconductor material and having a microcircuit. According to the invention, at least the chip and an additional component are electrically and mechanically connected on a substrate having a circuit pattern.Type: GrantFiled: February 12, 1988Date of Patent: September 26, 1989Assignee: Nitro Nobel ABInventors: Sven Dahmberg, Elof Jonsson, Per Lilius, Ingemar Olsson, Hjalmar Hesselbom, Rolf Wennergren

Patent number: 4857126Abstract: In the making of coated paper products an improved process is disclosed for separating wet, semi-dry or dried coated paper from an application unit or a drying roll. The process comprises the steps of providing a paper web with a release composition in the form of an aqueous layer or film including the reaction product of alkanolamine and a fatty acid in equimolar proportions, providing an agent to maintain the pH factor to predetermined level and adding preselected amounts of a viscosity-regulating substance and water. The release composition may be applied directly to a drying roll or drum or to fluting rolls use for corrugated paperboard.Type: GrantFiled: April 25, 1984Date of Patent: August 15, 1989Assignee: Sodra Skogsagarna ABInventors: Christer Soremark, Ingemar Olsson

Patent number: 4535949Abstract: A device for measuring the rolled-up length of web forming a roll when a web break has occurred during formation of the roll employs a web break indicator to indicate a web break. Normal web length measuring is carried out by counting pulses from a pulse transducer driven by a roller turned by the moving web and this is stopped on web break. A calculation of the circumference of the web roll on the occasion of the web break is made with the further aid of a pulse transducer on the shaft of the web roll and a counter and logic unit. Too loosely wound web material is removed from the roll and the circumference of the roller decreases. After joining the web and renewed winding, a calculation of the roll circumference is continuously performed by means of the pulse transducers. When the circumference of the roll resumes the size it had at the moment the web break occurred, normal length measuring is automatically resumed.Type: GrantFiled: June 12, 1984Date of Patent: August 20, 1985Assignee: ASEA AktiebolagInventor: Ingemar Olsson

Patent number: 4496112Abstract: A method of controlling the internal tension of a web roll, in particular a paper web roll during winding of the roll in a winder having two, individually driven supporting rollers. The rotational speeds of the supporting rollers or their drive members are measured, whereby the speed signals are fed to control means for controlling the rotational speeds of the supporting rollers to maintain a desired speed difference therebetween for controlling the web tension wound into the roll.Type: GrantFiled: March 30, 1983Date of Patent: January 29, 1985Assignee: ASEA AktiebolagInventors: Ingemar Olsson, Goran Ottosson, Bengt Sinner

Patent number: 4107253Abstract: A safety and test device for railway signalling systems comprising a calculating device or computer adapted to treat information signals, relating to prevailing speed and desired speed, and to activate a brake device if said treatment reveals that speed reduction is necessary. In order to control itself the computer is programmed to run through special test programs, suitably sections of the ordinary program with given start data, and at the end of each such test program generate a control word, specific for each test program and coming in a given sequence. A control unit connected between the computer and the brake device receives the control words generated by the computer and compares them with correct words stored in a memory and generates an output pulse, each time an incoming control word coincides with a correct control word stored in the memory.Type: GrantFiled: December 1, 1976Date of Patent: August 15, 1978Assignee: U.S. Philips CorporationInventors: Lars Uno Borg, Lars Ragnar Kamp, Kjell Olow Ingemar Olsson
